So who's been arrested after an accident that was charged with a DUI? Why exactly was he arrested?

He t-boned an aggie and could have killed her. Totaled her car. Hauled ass and people had to run him down. They called the cops and didn't arrest him.

The charges tell you no one was injured.
It's possible someone was, but Brooks was not charged for that happening. So assuming no one was for now

This reminds me of one of my dad's stories from back in the day. He did play college football at a smaller school.
Him and 3 of his buds went to a Jerry Lee Lewis concert with their dates. All in one car. After the concert they were driving back from the city through random small towns. Well of course my dad was focused on talking to his date and friends while he was driving back and not paying attention. Well, he hits this car and takes off. They go a little ways and he had to pull over bc the front finder was against the tire. So, him and one of his buds, jumps out, starts pulling on the finder. Four cop cars pull up fast as they are working on the finder. My dad says, "How the heck did you get here so fast!"
One of the cops says, "You hit the county judge buddy!"
So of course, he was put in jail for a couple of days prior to his coach getting him out.
One of my dad's friends told him he saw the car in the road but didn't say anything bc he thought my dad was playing a joke. Oops!

Sucks for your friend but highly doubt that he would be dismissed from the team for this.
Thankfully we are giving these kids at minimum tens of thousands of dollars. What a great investment for zero guaranteed return
