Will be incredibly surprised if all we do is crap the bed on the road 3 times and not manage to give away a game at home we shouldn't like we always do for 9 wins. If he only manages 7 wins with this schedule then fire him now.

I'm absolutely positive that Elko will keep his job at the ending of the season!!!

I am going to limit my expectations so I can enjoy the fall weekends this year. I've let a bunch of 18-22 year old's irritate me for too many fall Sunday's in the past.

Elko needs to either fix his prevent defense or throw it in the garbage.

It didn't cost us last year, but it has cost him dearly in the past, and it's high time he learns from his mistakes. If he does that, it'd be a good sign of progress and adaptation on his part

One would think after Sherman everyone would recognize you can't stop playing after the first half…and yet we repeatedly have retaught well-paid DCs that we play 60 minutes plus OT…and then in this case promoted one!!!

For those that have expectations, what are they for this season? Personally, when I had expectations last season, one of them was to win a road game. I could've cared less if we were playing the sisters of the blind if it meant we win on the road. Goal was to just win a damn road game, snap that losing skid we had with Jimbo, and get that monkey off our back.

As far as this year, a goal I have for Elko is to win a BIG game on the road. You won on the road last year, now go win a road game that is actually significant (ND, corndogs, sips). I don't count Arky or Mizzou as "significant" road games until proven otherwise as of right now.

That's just what I want to see, but then again I'm not getting optimistic or having high expectations until I actually see results for once. Obviously, a SEC championship or Natty is the ultimate goal, but I think we're closer to the same ole 8-4. I'll believe it when I see it. We are a pretender until proven otherwise.

I understand fan's goals don't really mean anything but why as a fan would someone choose lowball goals like win 8 or 9 games . So suppose your goal is win 9 games and you start 8-0 and you still have Samford on the schedule . Your team is going to meet your preseason goal as a fan so your'e going to be satisfied with the season irrespective of the last 3 conference games? I don't buy it.

I guess maybe I'm getting mixed up on goals vs expectations. To me the preseason goal should be win every game and a national title . If your'e a Rice fan then that's an unrealistic goal . I don't think it's ridiculous if your'e a Texas A & M fan. . Do I expect it , not really but is it possible? … yes … I think it is if everything goes right .

They're trying not to look stupid by giving a reasonable goal. But that's stupid. Shoot for the sky!!!

I expect myself not to watch college football, until we can stop face-planting mid-to-late season. Underachieving has ruined my falls since 1981. How about we overachieve for ONCE in a 100 years?

I quit watching during the Fran years and I never missed it. JM2 drug me back in.

My expectation is that year 86 of mediocrity will be very similar to years 1 through 85..... any more questions ?

IF we can ever find/develop an elite QB, we'd have a chance at 10+ wins.

Expectation is win the SEC and go to CFP but reality is same as last year aka just another mediocre season.
