Bucky Ball!!

Utsa is a minor league team getting guys ready for the big leagues they won't be very good game one we win by 35 plus. Don't bet the farm but a paycheck will be okay.

It will be a 8-4 kind of mood

Game should be over by halftime. On skill level alone, this is not even close. I expect 21+ lead by half and dominating the stat sheet. Middle 3rd, 2nd string comes in for good reps.

The only thing I can pretty much guarantee is a feeling of dissatisfaction. If we trounce them in every aspect of the game then the theme will be "they suck and it doesn't mean anything" which may or may not be true . If we win by less than 3 TD's then the " here we go again" crowd will be crowing . If we lose then "Elko has to go " will be the theme and rightfully so.

Volcanic anger from the pot bangers, impetuous, ecstatic joy from the pumpers unless the following happens:

Game is 35-0 or better (must be a shutout) with Reed throwing at least 3 TDs by the end of the 3rd quarter. O'Neill plays the whole 4th quarter, throwing for at least 1 more TD. The offense on the whole scores 2 more TDs during the 4th.

1st team defense gives up 3 pts or fewer. The backups give up 7pts or fewer. Score is 49-10 or better.


If the above happens, all should be satisfied.

I dunno man, I believe we could score a TD on every drive and allow no first downs and someone will complain about something.

you definitely should be rooting for Miami Hurricanes to destroy Notre Dame in the first week...

Why? I'd prefer a big Notre Dame win and corresponding high ranking . Would make an Aggie victory in South Bend potentially more impactful .

MNC? There are playoffs now, can't call it mythical anymore

I would take UTSA and the points

This much is true

Negative, whether we blow them out or not, y'all will say, it wasn't a conference team, wasn't SEC. I believe we'll win soundly and hope all Aggies will be pumped, but a pot banger is a pot banger. I live that the glass is half full. I have faith in our team , our coach, and the 12th man. But more than that faith in God. God bless all of y'all and help y'all to give up your potbanging ways!

Could beat UTSA 50-0 and the pot bangers will still complain that the offense is weak and should have beat them worse.

Here's what I'm hoping to see against UTSA

-Win and cover the spread

-Get plenty of playing time for backups, especially number 2 at QB

-See us air out the ball. We know we'll have a great rushing attack. I want to see a lot of growth in the passing game, which we should be able to do against the likes of UTSA. If we can't, we are in for a long season. Have to work out the kinks in this game and the next before Notre Dame.

Prepare yourselves for nuclear disappointment. It's coming.

Unless we lose we won't really know anything. Blow them out and meh it is UTSA. Dont blow them out and meh it is first game.

Of course, which is as it should be. When you play these cupcake games, you have to win easily or it is a negative outcome. You SHOULD win easily. If you don't, it means something went wrong on your side. If you do, that means the game went as it should. There can be no upside for a game like this. It is obviously good to win, but it doesn't mean anything except that you can beat a team with FAR less talent and resources than your team. That should be expected. An easy win shouldn't be dissatisfaction, but it is nothing to feel good about and saying it doesn't mean anything is accurate.

What do you think the reaction should be to beating a team like UTSA easily? I can't imagine anything other than you did exactly what would be expected. We could be better than we think or worse than we think and we should still beat them easily.

If you don't want to have games with no upside whatsoever, then don't schedule non-Power 4 teams.

So UTSA is capable. I don't understand why yall think they're going to roll over and get beat 77-0 with an experienced QB and a great coach in Traylor. I think we win by a few scores but I think they keep it close until the 3rd.

Lose: all hell obviously breaks lose
Win by 14 or less: lotsa unhappy people
Win by 14-21: some unhappy, some in wait and see
Win by 21-35: board stays pretty even (imo most likely outcome)
Win by 35-50: cautious optimism abound
Win by 50+: some serious buzz and excitement
