I was looking at the roster this morning and the players seem rather small on average outside the OL and TEs. Especially, skill positions and defense. Very short on the DL. Should be interesting.

They don't appear that small when looking at the roster.

The most physically intimidating team I ever saw at A&M was the one that walked off the bus in Waco in 2006.

We were slow as could be and had to fight scrap and claw to a 10 point win over a team that finished 4-8.

The season's success or failure won't be based on DL height OP.

This. Our DL is designed more for speed especially at DE.

That could be true but will speed equate to stopping a sustained run attack? I don't see run stopper body types on the roster.

Evans 6'5" 310 lbs
Hicks 6'3" 295 lbs
Oneydim 6'3" 295 lbs
Regis 6'1" 327 lbs
Scarlett 6'2" 297 lbs
Sims 6'3" 294 lbs
Sander 6'3" 315 lbs
Link 6'2" 294 lbs

3 guys over 300 lbs is not small. We don't have a jumbo 350 lbs guy but thats not a problem.

As a matter of fact Evans is tall and i could see him playing more outside same for Hicks. Or at least moving around the DL.

Forget height and weight.. what about their ankles?

What about the motion in the ocean?

As for football, I don't think we're lacking….although I do wish we had more of it in the WR room.

Talented depth is where we're needing to improve.
We're nowhere near the ability (yet) to put 10+ players in the NFL Draft, year after year with consistency

Just curious what do you think he would be able to do about it? The fact is he's very overweight even though he has the money and resources to do something about it. It's not a good look but more importantly it's very unhealthy for him.

We had 2 large DEs last year that couldn't set the edge on running plays or rush the passer.
Both were drafted. Go figure.

I'm curious what you are comparing to? Notre dame was the 2nd best defense in the nation last year and their biggest DT in their top 5 was 302. They started a 288 DT at nose. Also had a couple 295s and 250-260s des

Elkos best run stopping defense was 2018. Our 7 DL we played were:

Mack 6-1 320
Madubiuke 6-3 300
Keke 6-3 305 (and all reports were he actually slimmed down to 285)
Durham 6-3 255
Brown 6-4 282
Johnson 6-4 250
Peevy 6-6 300

Honestly doesn't look much different. Keke is a little bigger of a 5 tech than searcy/hayes buts that's it. And if we wanted to, we could play onyedim there if size is an issue.

Exactly. We aren't small on the DL we may not have jumbo NT but that's ok.

That's alot of NFL talent there (5 of the 7) with one stud All-Pro (Madubiuke) and Bobby Brown just signed 3yrs/$21M with the Panthers.

I've heard it's how you use it.

WR size is what causes me to pause. Majority of the depth chart are 6' and below. Only Myles listed taller than 6'1" ( he's 6' 2"). Our speed hopefully will make up for it

Hopefully our speed is great enough to take the top off the defenses.

I have really good size, and I also lack just enough speed. The ladies love it.

I can save you the wondering. Here's how this will go:

At the beginning of the year, we definitely have a new guy or two that will take the top off!

By the end of the season, our problem is that we don't have anyone that can take the top off!
