Premium topic says "Jerome Myles in hospital". I'm not subscriber so no idea what it is about, but definitely scary topic heading. Hopefully nothing to worry about for Jerome.

If we have a player in the hospital, it is absurd to have to subscribe to find out about it.

Seems more absurd for any of us to know why an 18 year old is in the hospital, merely because he plays a sport in our favorite laundry.

TA isn't going to talk about it unless coaches or kids do first.

Jerome posted a pic on his Snap so that became a thread.

Holy entitlement Batman!
I'm sure if you wanted to know bad enough you could go find the information.
But it's easier to scream into the ether that someone you're not paying a dime to is t giving you want you want RIGHT NOW.

Yikes.

Anybody can get premium. AggiesToday was posting over there years ago when he was in high school.

Based on the tenor of some of the discussions I would estimate the age range on Premium is 16 to 90. Lol

This isn't an official post by TexAgs, though. A Premium user, who pays to post in the Premium forum, posted a thread with a picture of an instagram story. That's it. It's all speculation.

All Texas A&M fans and especially donors are entitled to know because he is a professional football player, and we pay his salary. Texas A&M should issue a press release and disclose what the issue is. He might be 18, but he's an adult who took money to play a sport, and many people have a vested interest in his health and in the performance of the team. The NFL ensures everybody is apprised of player health issues, and it should be the same in college.

In case you missed the memo, we don't have to pretend these guys are "student athletes" anymore. You can stop with the "boohoo he's only a college kid" BS.

Agree 100%. I have no idea what's going on with this young man and if he is ill and/or injured, here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

But cool guy hit the nail on the head. These guys are highly compensated professional athletes with unlimited free agency. They aren't kids. They aren't student athletes. They aren't entitled to privacy. They are paid professional employees of those who have donated to a fund that ensures they a.) get to campus and b.) are treated like royalty once they get here. Since college athletics is now a 100% professional pay-for-play organization, I fully believe that all injuries, illnesses, or other disruptions to their athletic activities should be made public...just like it is in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, etc. Heck, it should be that way if for no other reason than to let Vegas know about it. The availability (or lack thereof) of one key player can make a tremendous difference in betting trends. It's a set up for corruption and illicit gaming if a few people have access to and know the truth about a player's status but other people do not.
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

I don't know what is wrong with the kid, but all I know is that the kids who have major injuries in high school almost always never pan out. Can't think of one that did.

First, if you were one of the people making payments large enough to matter in a kids salary, I bet you'd know already why he's in the hospital.

Second, while yes, pro leagues do keep everyone apprised of status to play, hold your hoses and let it play out a second. They don't owe you an explanation in the immediate aftermath of whatever put him in the hospital. If it goes a day or so with no info, then maybe you have an argument. But if it's my son, in the minutes/hours immediately after whatever incident hospitalized him, sorry I'm not sorry I wouldn't be clamoring to make sure the message boards have up to the minute status updates of whatever procedure he's in for. It will be disclosed in time.

He wasn't being counted on to play this year. Whatever it is, just let it play out and don't worry about things you can't control. We have a strong WR room this season and he will add to it when he is ready.

You sound more entitled than the entitled athletes you are whining about.

NFL routinely lists "undisclosed" as an injury.

SEC does an availability report, so your noble concern about gambling will not be an issue most of the season

Maybe so. But because of NIL and the transfer portal, I have become quite jaded when it comes to these athletes. I love the Ags and hope we win every single game we play in every single sport, but my sympathy level for these highly compensated professional athletes has dropped considerably.

This is wrong. The NFL has a union and contracts. They also have lucrative deals with betting companies. I doubt CFB follows suit any time soon. I don't need to know about the health of any player NFL or College. The irony of all this is that if you really want to know this info you just have to follow players on social media. Young people happily share the intimate details of their life to anyone interested.

He was never the be-all l, end-all type player he was in high school and he also got injured again his freshman year which was really why he never got to the level most expected. So not really the greatest example.

We have two legit guys (Craver and KC), one potential guy (ABR) and a gadget player. We're an injury or two away from disaster there.
