What do expect - an explosive offense by scoring 50+ point per game? A disciplined defense with multiple sacks and the opponents scoring less than 10 points each? A stellar specifically team performance?

I expect a decent performance that pumps us up as not being a barely passing by team but in reality it still needs a lot of work

I predict we play UTSA closer than people like and Texags has a complete meltdown week 1. I wish there was a prop bet for that. That feels like easy money. Maroon Dawn is probably already limbering up his typing fingers.

I expect problems with pass protection and run blocking, and I expect problems with our front 7 stopping the run. I also expect too many open receivers. We will win both in uninspiring fashion, although we will look better in the second game.

I see you Pumpers already warming up those excuses about how great UTSA is and what a quality opponent they were so there's no shame if that final score is way too close for comfort!

As a gesture of good will, I'll donate a free one for yall:

"Don't worry about the score it's just the first game of the season, UTSA is a dark horse to make the playoff and we couldn't risk showing ND the playbook! Lot of FB left to play! South Carolina looked like ass against Old Dominion and they almost made the playoff! It's not how you start but how you finish!"

That is a quality Pumper excuse right there that hits all the usual highlights so use it well!

You're welcome!

No just HINTS of that.

I'd love to see strong series from 1st team. 3nd teamers get several series with a mix of 1st teamers. Followed by lots of PT by the youngsters that aren't quite ready yet.

I'd be happy with 30-40 pts for the good guys, and less than 10 for the opponents.

Doesnt the offense typically start slower at the beginning of the year? Wouldn't surprise me to see that the first game out the shoot

i think we come out and look fairly sharp. more explosive plays and an ability to put up some points.

to me the season will hinge on our ability to stop the run. i look forward to seeing how that plays out. hoping for two dominate run defense performances before playing notre dame.

I would like to see us hold the opponent to 250 yds while gaining 450 plus 65% completion rate with no turnovers.

I'm expecting it to be about 38-0.

But it's a home game, so maybe we'll at least get a field goal.

I don't imagine we would look to really get too deep in the playbook if Elko & Klein had their way… and if our line is half as good as everyone thinks it is, we should probably just be able to let Owens and Daniels churn it out while Moss works his way back to full speed.

UTSA is a well-coached program that we should out-talent, so beating them by 4+ TDs would be a really promising sign, especially if Marcel looks comfortable working through his reads… I would love to see our TEs establish themselves as a major part of the pass game.

Probably a bunch of posters that expect us to win by a 50+ point margin, but come on here and meltdown when we ONLY win by 4 touchdowns.

It's been a minute since this message board has seen receivers get separation, even against inferior opponents. I'm predicting that we are reminded what "easy" offense is supposed to look like. Not gonna be perfect, but we may get more excited than we should after a couple of great offensive outputs

Here will be my best guess for a realistic score prediction:

1. UTSA @ ATM - Aggies Win -- 41 - 17 -- 24 point win margin

2. Utah State @ ATM - Aggies Win -- 42 - 13 -- 29 point win margin

Aren't you the guy who wouldn't shut up about how bad we'd lose to Bama a few years ago, then we won with a backup qb and you ran away and hid until you were called out by the board?

Or were you the guy who **** all over the A&M baseball team the moment before they began making their run that led to Omaha, where you also ran away and I don't think ever returned to that board.

Or were those both the same guy? I can't ever remember. Either way, the uptick in volume of your doomsday posts makes me feel better and better about the prospects of this season.

Still don't understand why some of yall are so down on Klein and the offense. They showed progression throughout the season last year even after Moss went down. Plus, from everything we've heard, the new WRs are looking good and we have a healthy Moss, Owens, etc. Now, the defense on the other hand…

Vs. UTSA I predict a typically slow A&M start, something like 7-3 Runners at the end of Q1. Then we pull away late to win something like 38-27.

I think Utah State will be like NMSU last year. Win never in doubt, but not as "big" as we'd like.

I think we follow those up with a close L @ND.

****ting on Klein is the laziest take ever. He had to keep shifting strategies week by week due to the qb, then the moment the qb situation settled we lost our bell cow RB and had already lost major pieces on the OL. And even then we were still pretty damn good.

But guys who make dinner bets with family and friends out of rage were mad about the tu result and that's really all it is.

Oh man that Bama win was your Super Bowl wasn't it?

For one shining moment you and all the other Pumpers got to pretend your faith had finally been rewarded and we were turning the corner as a program!

But then what did we do after that? Oh yeah we Shat the bed twice against the Mississippi schools and went:

8 and 4

Again

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Ags win but its tough
Offense is boring and drops wide open passes
Defense is a jugernaut against the run but a siv against the pass
We pull it out in the 4th quarter on a utSA fumble and win 24-17
SOS
NEXT YEAR IS HERE.......again

I donot buy this - top teams in the country would dominate these cupcake games with ease - crisp / explosive / scoring with ease - it's a natural display of offensive might

Similarly, defense would be dominating as well with ease

Struggles in these two games would expose weaknesses for everybody to see

So we will learn a lot with these two warm ups

Texas put up 56 on UTSA last year, won 56-7. If we don't get into the 40s with ease, I'd be shocked and concerned. Our defense, while not as good as the 2024 Texas defense (until proven otherwise), should hold UTSA to the teens.

Prediction: 45-13

Sorry to upset you, Mrs. Klein.
