But bad for Texas. Because I personally believe Sark is probably a top candidate to replace their coach.

But hey. Good for us.

Or maybe they get Saban to come back.

Why would sark leave for bama?

Sark would not leave. For what? He has it made right now for the next three years. He can get fired and be like Jimbo.

Bama has NIL issues. No way he leaves tu for bama unless he wants less money and less resources.

As long as Skanky keeps giving them Vandy and Kentucky, why would he leave?

I still argue that some worry so much about the sips that they cannot focus on their own life, or the Aggies for crying out loud

Until we build ourselves into a power, it doesn't matter what Alabama or anyone else does.

100%. They've lived rent free in the heads of more Aggies since "divorcing" those **********s in 2011, than they did before we left. Who gives a **** what those idiots do? Hate EVERYONE who ain't us.

It just pisses me off that they were a dynasty when we played them every year, and now that we don't they take a dive.

Yeah that burns my a** too. We had to deal with the best dynasty in the history of CFB, in our own division, then deal with the rise of UGA as a power. Cows come into the league and don't have to play Bama at their max strength, no divisions so don't have to play at lsu or Auburn or Ole Miss and benefit from any easy SEC schedule first two years. F!

Bama being bad is bad for us. We need the SEC to be strong..every year.

SEC teams were 14-2 this weekend. tu and bama were the only losers. Those were the 2 worst offenses and QB play in the league.

Both teams have a tendancy to lose thier motivation and struggle when they start bad. Tu should cruise past some cupcakes, but they fold after ou, Georgia and Florida end their tounament chances. Sark made terrible decisions until the fell down 14 points. They think arch can pass and without a passing game their running game won't work.

Why would Sark leave elite NIL school for mediocre NIL school like Bama? OP do you understand how college football currently works?

We can only take advantage by being good.

We've had too many opportunities to be good while others are down only to whiff. Nothing else matters until we are good.

The day's of big bad Bama is over I believe that's not a Saban tide anymore and if the continue to play like this passed 4 games counting last 3 from last season someone seat might be on fire by seasons end

If Alabama misses the playoff DeBoer days as head coach maybe numbered. Bama will be looking at Elko to possibly replace him.

You may be trolling, but if you're not. Elko lost to an Auburn team that wasn't good enough to earn a bowl. Zero chance Alabama wants any of that

Bama losing just means they have dropped down a notch in the SEWC (aka Sankey's abomination) hierarchy. Especially in the manner that they did. They are a lot closer to auburn level now than they probably thought they would ever be. And They have lost finebaum, who is now riding the Sips & Karchie's jock. It's a different world for them and they can't be happy about. .

I think there is a lot of overreaction to a Week 1 game in August.

Honestly, this didn't cross my mind until this thread.

But whoever thinks Sark would not jump at the Bama gig is deluding themselves. Alabama has enjoyed being at the pinnacle for so long their base won't accept anything other. Not at all saying DeBoer is only going to be given one more year, but it won't be more than say 3 or 4 if Bama "falters" to a horrible 8-4 season. And Bama can match or exceed compensation. Stakes are high in college football now. He spent time at Alabama, then came back from his personal issues to bring the sips back from the abyss. I think he has the ego to jump at the Bama gig if offered.

Got tired of Saban coming over to Texas and cherry picking recruits. Looks like those days are ending and I expect DeBoer isn't even going to be able to hang on to all the upcoming class he has recruited. His NIL funding is about to slow to a trickle.

Very pleased with the Bama downfall, and DeBoer is gonna find a free motorcycle parked in his driveway any day now.

Bama is a major recruiting rival. Them being mediocre helps us greatly and we now need to notch quality wins to be able to convince more of the top recruits that they can win big here.

It's going to get DeBoer fired before too long. Why wouldn't Sark jump at that apart from that? I guess Texas may be better positioned as far as $. And Texas fans will accept proximity to the pinnacle. There's also the angle if he wins championships at Bama he's just continuing what Saban already did more successfully.

I think I've successfully deluded myself into thinking Sark wouldn't jump at Bama.

College football has massively changed the last 3 - 5 years. You can almost throw out whatever pre-conceived notions you had of the old college football order. In theory Texas A&M should be one of the winners of the new order. Time will tell. Having said that, moving from UT to Bama makes no sense in the new college football order.

To say that it helps us greatly is way over estimating the benefit we may get. I think this only helps us a tiny bit. The recruits that Bama can no longer real in are still getting offers from every other top flight program. I would be surprised if A&M would even average 1 additional recruit per year that would have gone to Bama with Saban still there.

The other benefit would be, if their recruiting and play on the field has dropped vs Saban, when Bama is on the schedule, our probability of beating them hopefully increases from 10% to maybe 50%.

I would say that moving from A&M to Bama probably doesn't make sense either with this new way of playing the game, but we need to find the coach that can bring that to fruition. Hopefully Elko can make it happen.

Hate to tell you but Sark's not going anywhere - that is until he has a disappointing season and the sips run him out of town on a rail.

Alabama has a contract issue with DeBoer. Kalen DeBoer's Alabama buyout is about $69.3 million if Alabama fires him without cause (after the 2025 season) and decreases annually, but it is low, only $4 million in 2025, if DeBoer leaves voluntarily. Alabama paid $12 million to Washington to buy out DeBoer's previous contract before he came to the Crimson Tide.
