For years I wondered who I would root for if tu and the ****bags from LSU ever played each other. Until it finally happened a few years ago.

I begrudgingly found myself rooting for swamptard.

F*** tu til eternity

Obviously would love to see Texas season spiral, but OU is way bigger threat to make the SEC championship.

Realistically if Texas wasn't Texas, we would be rooting for them here.

On the flip side, a loss here could send their season to the gutter, which could have long term positive effects on recruiting.

What y'all think?

I think you're high AF if you think Texas winning will ever benefit A&M. If they are winning and we beat them the mantra will be we got lucky one year and they are a "blue blood" that just had a bad day. We will NEVER get the credit we deserve for beating them.

Ever.

The way to deal with Texas best is NOT play the game. But we aren't that smart. So the next best thing is to hope they lose every game. To conspire against them at every turn. And to beat them into oblivion when you play them and to HOPE we are ranked high enough that the nation is watching when it happens.

But no. You're high AF. It's not in our best interest for Texas to be good. Ever.

Looking at the field of 12 for the CFP the team we need to lose is ND
Last year it was
4 B1G
3 SEC
2 ACC
1 BDF; 1 G5 ; ND
If ND doesn't make the field that spot almost certainly goes to an SEC team.
tu losing and being eliminated from playoff consideration makes winning in Austin more likely
Regardless of what OU does the Ags are probably going to need that win in Austin to make the playoffs
I definitely think going forward the tu game will be basically the 1 st round of the playoffs win and you are in lose and you go to a 2 nd tier bowl game

t.u. will be the best 7-5 (maybe 6-6) team in the nation when we're thru with them

Disagree. I see your logic, as an independent they take up a spot. But we beat them and they are a quality win on our resume. The higher they go bolsters our resume.

I want Texas to win a close game. This will give them a brief moment of hope on their way to a 6-6 season with an embarrassing bowl performance.

There is one exception, if there ever was a time that a tu win would propel A&M to the playoffs, then I could accept rooting for them.

this year is different ND is likely going to finish between 8-4 and 10-2 at 10-2 our win looks great but ND will be riding a 10 game winning streak and be a threat to snag an a spot possibly at our expense

If our win at Arkansas is less impressive than NDs win that is all the excuse the committee might need to bump us below them

If they drop to 8-4 the win is still a quality road win and we aren't fighting them for one of that last 2 spots in the bracket

I want them to lose, but the answer to your question is yes. If we are being honest

Wrong. We want Texas to lose always. And that's being honest. Far more helpful to us in recruiting. That's far more beneficial than playing them as a ranked team at end of season.

I hope we never play another ranked Texas football team. And from the looks of it? As long as Sark is HC, this could be a reality.

100% what andrews372 said, too. I always root for anyone playing Texas. Even LSU...sadly.

What you want is Texas to lose so badly Arch gets benched and transfers to Indiana and lights it up wins the Big 10 next year.

That way Texas gets another loss and it damages their future recruiting.

Sadly, what will happen is that Venables will overthink things and drop this game and we will all have to endure the Texas is back routine for the 7,681st time.

I just can't root for t.u. knowing that it would take out another undefeated team in the SEC.

Realistically:

In the remaining 6 games, they have 1 guaranteed win. That's against Arkansas. The rest are tossups or losses.
