Luckily it was a bye week. Ended up watching Nascar anyway.

Other than fk muh Disney, why do people love YTTV so much over Hulu live, I've tried both and find Hulu's product offering superior.

I can't believe the nfl is allowing this bs. They should just stream the game on nfl network.

YT has the only streaming UI that I like. I've tried 3 others and hated it.
Fubo has the best interface. But it's so expensive

The large majority of NFL games are free over the air in the markets of the two teams playing.

Last time I had Fubo, the YTTV interface was 10x better to me.
But right now at this point, I'm ready to go back to the old days of cable where you didn't have to have 37 different subscriptions or have to have a map built in to know which show or game is on which streaming channel and know which of the platforms carries that channel, etc.
I'm old, I yell at clouds. TV used to be easy to sit and watch, now I get aggravated AF because I spend as much time searching for a game or show as I do actually watching it. I'm about to the point of saying F it and cancelling everything, but my girls would mutiny in the house if I did.

You'll still need to sign in with your subscription details to access everything, though.

Unless they've added several missing features that YTTV has and Hulu does not, it's objectively not. I was so fed up with Hulu Live when I fired them that I laid out a list of things that made me do it. Some of them were major and some of them were just smaller mechanics things that drove me nuts. I'll try to find it and share and then someone else can tell us if they've fixed any of it. I left Hulu around 6 months ago so maybe they have improved since then.
One has already been mentioned but Hulu Live does not have multi-screen capability and YTTV does. If you are big sports fan, this is a big miss. It's especially egregious since Disney owns most of the sports content in this country. Pretty damn dumb when their main competitor creates a better viewing experience for watching sports than the content owner who is showing the same content.
Off the top of my head:
- Hulu Live does not allow you to reorder your channel guide; YTTV does.
- YTTV allows me to go back to the Menu screens without leaving the current program I'm watching so that I can still mostly see it and at least hear it; Hulu Live takes me all the way back to the menus and exits the current program.
- On the rare occasion I record something, Hulu live is not smart enough to serve up that recording on the Home Screen. I had to search for it or click a few layers in to find it. YTTV serves up the recording first thing on the Home Screen.
- The Hulu Live experience was not consistent across different platforms. The app works differently on AppleTV vs the app on your TV. YTTV works the same everywhere.
- This one may just be my experience, but we always had compression issues with Hulu Live whereas we don't with YTTV. (Flipping in and out from standard definition to HD).
Edit: FTR, I'm no fan of Google. Their Google work suite (MS competitor) is mostly trash. Never mind what I think about the company itself, but we are dealing with lesser of evils here.

Don't overthink it. It is a negotiation with YTTV apparently initiated by YTTV.MagnumLoad said:
Looks like to me that espn is trying to force viewers to the espn app that's coming for $30 a month. They will do that to all providers ultimately. That isn't right, maybe not legal, but it is their content.

I tried YTTV for about three days and while it is usable, I would not call it intuitive. I dropped since one local channel isn't carried: KFAA in DFW is carrying Mavs games and unlike its sister station WFAA-8 (ABC) it isn't included in YTTV it wasn't last December.
What do I use? Spectrum app. No cable boxes. It's awful in every sense of the word. But comes with all streaming I need (Paramount+/CBS, ESPN Ultimate, Hulu, Peacock, FoxOne, plus HBO Max, Disney+, AMC+ mostly with ads but for sports that's pretty good if it's streamed.)
That's nice. The term intuitive usually is false.schmellba99 said:greg.w.h said:

Honestly you are the only person I've ever seen say or type that out

I added ESPN Unlimited last night to watch Aggie basketball. My god, what a horrible service. Pause and fast forward was painful.

Doesn't have TNT and TBS which is a problem.
