I love watching college football,

But seriously we live in the greedy era of humanity. At no point in time has $ ruined as much as it currently does . Everybody wants more more more driving the cost of everything thru the roof.

This will get resolved today. And I subscribe to Disney/ESPN+ anyway so if for some bizarre reason it goes into tomorrow i'm not worried.

Get a 24 hour pass on Sling for like $5, or subscribe to ESPN Unlimited so you don't have to worry about carriers.

I didn't know this was an option, thanks! I only get YTTV for football season and I pretty much never watch anything outside of Saturdays.

I recommend AT&T Uverse, it's worked perfectly for me for a decade.

Hate to tell you this but Uverse hasn't been offered as a new product in about 3 or 4 years. Everybody that had it prior is grandfathered in.

watching these networks holding the carriers hostage for more money is pathetic though, and they can get away with it bc they know the torch-and-pitchforks crowd is always gonna blame the carrier. Not the network.

Att verse is a dead product, just a matter of time

Ive had YouTube TV for 7 years. Paid $35 a month when I joined. Now it's nearly $85.
I've gone through these dumbass disputes before but I'm pretty much over it after this.
I need to find an alternative. I've never had a carrier (corded or otherwise) that does this to it's subscribers as often as YTTV.

FUBO is great. its a little pricey, but I get to watch local broadcast astros games and they've never removed a channel I watch due to contract disputes.

Cutting the cord isn't always the answer. I haven't had to deal with this crap with DirecTV. Now they give me ESPN Unlimited for free. They also don't jack with my rates. Also, now, when the weather is bad and signal goes out, they automatically switch to streaming so you aren't interrupted.

Well, good luck. Your alternative is Hulu Live which I personally think is trash and it's just as expensive. The UI doesn't work nearly as well as YTTV. It simply does not do the little things as well.

Guess you could go back to DTV or DISH satellite.

And we likely shouldn't be blaming YTTV for this. Disney owns ESPN and is a direct competitor with YTTV, so they have YTTV over the barrel to make them pay more for ESPN.

It would be peak Aggie to have the most success we've had since the early 90s and also not be able to watch them on TV…for an entirely different reason.

Honestly I think you've never had any provide do this as often as YTTV only because you've been with YT TV this whole time.

The origins of this date back to shortly after the founding of ESPN. They have become the preeminent live sports juggernaut with the most popular sport in America.

Since ESPN's creation they have regularly been the only media/content creation company that can set their market price with the majority of consumers banking them over the cable company.

As you all know, I love screwing corporations.

I watch all my games on free streaming services online. Yes, all of them, google. I don't watch games on a TV, I watch them on my desktop on my 2nd monitor while I read meltdowns on TexAgs on the other.

Try it. Don't pay these corps anything.

Huh? I'm over 50 years old. I've had cable and satellite the majority of my adult life.
There were disputes with both of these options but again, never as often as with YTTV. Not even close.

I'm saying they've increased in frequency in recent years, many while you've had YTTV. I think up until recently YT TV was too small for the big content creators to go after. There just wasn't enough juice there to squeeze.

Goodness I missed watching the Super Bowl in (I think) 2015 because Time Warner/Spectrum was at war with NBC.

Are you relatively new to DirecTV? September of 2024 this same thing happened between DirecTV and Disney, with the blackout running for two weeks.

It was the impetus for me cutting the cord, and moving to YTTV, which now, of course, is in dispute with Disney. Maybe it's me?

Yep, that's what made me finally dump directv stream and go to fubo (which I didn't like, especially for the higher price), and end up with YTTV. And they kept raising the DTV stream rates throughout the process just to insult their customers. People complaining about YTTV pricing and service should give Directv stream a try. IMO all services are vastly inferior to YTTV even with these issues, in terms of bang for buck and usability.

Up till this time around it's been traditional cable and satellite (cord) companies in these flights!

Pretty sure this is the first big Streaming Fight with a major content provider.
