I think Marcel staying healthy is a huge reason too.

When was the last time our starter made it through the whole season? Mond in 2020? Seems like every other season, a starter gets hurt and/or benched and then goes to the portal.

7 of our 9 wins were by 17+ points, including 4 of 6 SEC wins. I think Elko nailed the transfer portal, and he makes great halftime adjustments. Tommy Moffitt has been instrumental to our success too because he has improved our strength and conditioning program dramatically.

Tommy Moffitt is huge reason for our success as well. I see over and over in interviews with the players that in the second half other teams' players are tired and worn out and our guys are still going strong. There is no doubt he has made our strength and conditioning better program wide.

I think Elko said it best, complementary football.

If defense is tough sledding, offense needs to get on the ball.

If the offense is struggling, the defense needs to get up.

This is a very special team and I'm very bullish on every team Mike Elko builds here having the same toughness.

I remember the massive second-half collapses under Sherm. And we saw it (to a lesser extent) over and over again. This is the first season i can remember when we're actually getting better after halftime. And it's a great feeling.

This. In years past it was hope to get out to a big enough lead in the first half to survive the collapse in the 2nd half. I can't recall how many double digit leads disappeared in the 2nd half. That is where BAS really started to set in.
This team under Elko has flipped it. Now it feels like if the Aggies keep it close in the 1st half they will easily pull away in the 2nd half.

In the 1988 Cotton Bowl, we beat Notre Dame with Tim Brown, a Heisman Trophy winner.

Lou Holtz stated after the game that the reason they lost was due to speed or the lack of.

So he recruited speed and Notre Dame won an NC in 1989.

Reasons we are 9-0 in no order:

-PORTAL
-healthy capable O-line. Same starting 5 for all 9 games.
-WRs who can run routes and like to block downfield.
-2 TEs (who are actually utilized) who can block and catch.
-defensive front 7.
-DBs who can cover.
-LBs who are good enough.
-PORTAL

We've had good to great recruiting classes (on paper), but this is by far the most balanced roster we've had in a long, long time.
