I made this argument earlier in a different thread-

Far to much weight is put into beating/losing to ranked/formerly ranked teams early and late in the season.

Rhodes himself just justified Indiana staying out because they beat a name, not a good team.

Osu wont budge from their spot because of their name a last year. Indiana is also benefitting from recency bias.

When we end the year with 3 straight wins, another top 20 win and another top 5 won, they wont have any choice but to place us first.

Plus, Indiana/osu are the teams guaranteed to lose a game before thr playoffs.

This CFP system is rigged. The " Eye Test " is a joke ! Indiana's last two games are against Wisconsin and Perdue. We better win out , this committee looks untrustworthy !

It amazes me that IU isn't penalized for their awful scheduling..
since that was a point of emphasis this year… what's the point of having more data/scheduling if they're going to base it solely on defensive eye test… which IU has played some dogcrap offenses

There is really no point in scheduling tough non conf games. They aren't valued at all.

I mean some people point to opponents win %. 7-2 Kennesaw St at home looks the same as 7-2 Notre Dame on the road to them. It's a total joke.

So the only way to move up is to score 100 on USCe and 200 on Samford. Gotcha.

So does the CFP look at ESPN's bogus FPI metric? It kept popping up on the screen during the show. A purely contrived metric that is there solely to prop up the "blue bloods".

Will be curious to see how the Committee responds if the top 4 CFP teams play each other (tOSUXIU, A&MXAL) in conference championships before the season is even over.

I can't say I've looked into it, but what would the difference in seeding mean in terms of 2nd vs 3rd? It it really that big of a difference?
