I have a feeling they were planning on flipping A&M and UI next week. The whole "longest discussion" comment felt like telegraphing a switch without a loss. Would have been smarter to just drop UI after their pitiful showing with us dominating a ranked opponent, even though both had backup QBs.

But I could totally see Rhodes holding the line for UI and blocking the switch this week.

This is a great memory of mine. Some kids snuck it into the game against Baylor when we destroyed their ass that year too. That was the year RG3 won the heisman as well.

I was there too, and it was awesome - the crowd roared.

It feels like the CFP committee always ends up with a chairman who lacks honesty and accountability.

They will keep IU at 2 until the Big10 title game. They want a 1 vs 2 matchup! The whole point of this is not to reward/identify the best team, it's to generate the most money. 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4 is way better than 1 vs 3 and 2 vs 4. It's all about the Benjamins.

Per my hs buddy who's a Baylor grad it's not just a leave of absence… he has resigned as AD.

From what I recall reading, Johnny Manziel was the scout team QB and simulated RG3 which was why our defense was well prepared for RG3.

From my perspective, it seems to have heated up since 2000 with the Dave Bliss stuff, then all the Art Briles mess. Plus, we had a consistent thing with them in women's hoops during the Blair tenure. In baseball, we were at each other's throats for well over 20 years. One thing exacerbated the other, and it just got going. When I was in school, it wasn't like it is now.

However, as a former Baylor student (freshman year), I can tell you the A&M hate there is IMMENSE. I never quite got it for a long time. Talk about t.u. and other schools and it was like, yeah, whatever. Talk about A&M and suddenly pitchforks come out. Then I slowly started to realize after I had come to A&M: a LOT of Baylor girls end up dating/marrying Aggies. This has been going on for decades, obviously starting when there weren't women in College Station. For some reason, Baylor guys think campus women are their property. This thought process doesn't seem to end after graduation.

If you talked to your typical Baylor 70s-90s female student/grad about A&M, their feelings about A&M were nowhere near as strong as their male counterparts.

I have literally had my Baylor friends tell me their feelings about A&M are justified. Benign feelings about t.u.? "No, it just isn't the same." When we went to the SEC, it gave them some fodder: "you guys left the Big 12..." What happened when t.u. and OU left? <crickets>
