SOS and SOR are rankings - therfore cant be equivalent. We rank ahead of Oregon in both.
Our SOS is better than all of the teams ranked ahead of us in the current CFP
This, and our wins @ND @LSU @Mizzou are all better than @PSU
Man Oregon's resume is pretty garbage as far as quality wins. Didn't realize it was that bad.
It just furthers my belief that this conference expansion is horrible and I hate it.
I have said it before and will again. The 12 team playoff would have been perfect in the prior set up where the Big XII was legit and the Pac 10 was around.
You would generally (this year with the ACC is an outlier) have 5 legit and good conference champs.
Like this year you'd have
Pac10-Oregon
Big10-Indiana
SEC-UGA
Big XII-OU (perhaps Tech but they've literally played crap)
ACC-Miami (hopefully the actual best teams would have been able to play the conf title game if it wasn't so diluted with the pac 10 leftovers they added).
So there are 5 teams.
Then you get 7 more teams. Let's say ND, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, maybe a Southern Cal (since they'd just play Pac 10 teams), and maybe Texas.
If some non power 5 team pulled a Boise, UCF, or Cincy and went undefeated they'd get in over some fringe team from a power 5.
The expansion has allowed SEC and Big 10 conference schedules to be diluted and watered down. And in turn a conference like the Big XII has been filled with average teams and very few good ones. I don't know wtf happened to the ACC. No reason they shouldn't be better. But they too have watered down the conference with second rate pac 10 teams and teams they added form non-P5 conferences.
