I have no doubt we'd made Tulane or JMU close games. JMU would've run for 400 yds.

let's us not be misled or be insincere why we lost.

We lost to pretty sucky miami.

A&M quality of coaching and execution by player have been poor past 2 1/2 games starting with SC.

be truthful and genuine.

we lost to bad miami team, and no spin will change that.

Elko need to own up and move on to 2026 campaign.

What team have you been watching the last few weeks? Sure we probably beat Tulane and JMU, since they are way less talented than we are. Alabama and OU would crush our offensive line. OU's defense is better than Miami's and would have our offensive production would have been similar. Alabama would have pushed us around on both sides of the ball all day.

Not being very good at football was the killer.

This 100%. Hell, Tulane or JMU might have beat us which would have been even more embarrassing if that's even possible.

Was getting dropped to 7 instead of 5 or 6 fair? There's an argument to be made, objectively, based on the data that NO this wasn't fair.

But damn... we did nothing to help ourselves at the end and that is 100% on our coaches and players. We clearly regressed toward the very end of the season. The offense completely disappeared for several quarters or even entire halves. The interceptions were brutal and rightly cause people to question our QB play long term.

I like Marcel a ton. I know he works hard and has tremendous character as a human being. But his footwork and accuracy are really concerning. We either have to make him more "run first", somehow get him to be more accurate and calm as a pocket passer, or get someone else who can fill the role. Next year will be a disappointing season if the QB play continues to look as inconsistent as it did at times this y ear.

Style points matter to the committee. We didn't do that enough in certain games (Auburn, Arkansas and SC) and then losing in the way we did to Texas didn't help

If our scores looked like this

vs Auburn: W 30-10
@ Arkansas: W 52-24
vs South Carolina: W 38-17
@ Texas: L 24-27

Along with the multiple score wins over MSU, Florida, LSU and Mizzou then we would have been #6 easily or maybe even #5

The biggest surprise of our season is that we beat Notre dame, not that we lost to Miami. The team on the field yesterday loses to everyone except JMU and Tulane.

A mediocre team? Not in all aspects.

When we have been playing our A game, we could beat any team in the nation.

Our problem has been consistency and that is a mindset and coaching issue and what has made us a mediocre team overall. That is the biggest frustration.

Had we beaten tu, we would have won our first game vs a top half SEC opponent.

Thats when the light bulb went off for the committee. Had tu not completely exposed us, we would have been the 5 seed and caught a break. But they did, they thrashed us up front on both sides and showed the committee just who we really were vs decent comp.

Committee was not going to hand us that after getting exposed.

If you can't beat any opponent thrown at you, you don't deserve to be the national champs. And if you don't want to be able to take on any opponent, why even being the playoffs?

Yes. We have our own issues - stopping the run and running the ball ourselves - that, like Bama's issues, would likely result in not progressing deep into the playoffs. BUT we could have handled Tulane, JMU and I believe Alabama (or their host, Oklahoma).

Miami may win the whole thing.

They won't get past the second round.

The omen was set when we lost to t.u. They cost us the chance to play in the SEC championship game, a chance to be SEC champs, exposed Reed as a fraud as well as the whole team and now they get to play a coachless bad Michigan team it the Cheese Bowl. And keeping Klein to coach the offense was another bad omen. He should have been shown the door.

It's laughable that any our fans think we could magically beat any of the remaining playoff teams on a neutral site when we only scored 3 at home against a team that lost to SMU. A better seeding does not make this a championship team.

Are you high?

Miami sucks. Carson Beck has been useless and they can't make a field goal.

Ohio State going to win by double digits.

Volleyball just showed that seedings shouldn't matter. To win it all, you have to beat good teams. Maybe you end up having to beat more than the next guy, but the VB team was (perhaps WAY) underseeded. They beat a 2-seed, an undefeated 1-seed, and swept 2 1-seeds in the FF in matches they probably weren't favored in.

Don't complain, don't make excuses, just go F the prom queen. Then, when you don't, get your ass back to work and fix what went wrong. Assuming we can get to 11 wins and improving on that next year without a realization of what happened in late November -- and fixing it -- is, at best, wishful thinking. At worst, it will be a program killer and we'll be stuck with another expensive buyout in 2-3 years no farther along than we are now.

(Sadly, that's my prediction, though I really hope I'm wrong).

Well, maybe we could have just had our only loss be to a crap ass Pac12 team instead of tu and we could've gotten a bye……..

Blaming seeding is ridiculous. We crapped the bed against a team that is roughly equal athletically at home . I hate Miami but they took it to us and we didn't have the answers . We got beat physically when it mattered and we just have to be better if we expect to win titles . No calls by refs mattered but you have to be able to overcome what you can't control.

Irrespective of seeding you eventually have to be better than a team that is athletically equal or better . 1sr round … 2nd round … semifinal … final … it sorts itself out. I don't like the byes and I think it should go from 12 to 16 with no byes but eventually you face a team that is athletically as good or better than you and "just win "comes into play. No one ultimately remembers jack about seeding … they just remember if you won or lost your last game . If you didn't win your last game you were an also ran. We were an 11-2 also ran in national perception… period … end of story. Good team … not great. Won't be remembered outside of Aggies next year and beyond . It's just the way it is and it's never going to change .

As Aggies I think there are reasons to believe the program can elevate to contender on a regular basis but the national perspective isn't going to change until it's proven on the field. It's just the way it works. You haven't done jack squat until you win a title and even then they'll say you were a one year wonder until you show otherwise

The killer was not showing up for the sip game and then not showing up in the Miami game. Scoring only 3 points won't win you many games.

And meanwhile our VB team beat three number one seeds and won a natty anyway. If the goal is to win it all, and that is truly your goal, you should not care when you play the best team. You have to beat everyone anyway.

This only matters when your goal is just to look good for the cameras.

The SEC opponents we beat were 12-44 in SEC play. That is why we won 11 games.

Marcel is the reason we lost both games this year. When teams stack the box, we are toast. It doesn't matter who we have at receiver if he can't get them the ball.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

The volleyball team just went through the most massive gauntlet you can imagine to win a National Championship.
I thought I read where no volleyball team had ever beaten 2 number 1 seeds in a single NCAA tournament ever.
These young ladies beat THREE NUMBER 1 SEEDS.....BEAT A 2 SEED....BEAT A 9 SEED...AND BEAT THE OTHER 1 SEED (t.u.) during regular season play.
No excuses. No BS.
It's the equivalent to beating Miami...then Ohio State...then Georgia....then Indiana...and telling them all to kiss our azzes.
So these ladies truly focused and pulled together even when things didn't go their way (lost to t.u in SEC tourney semis and fell behind 2 sets to 2-seed Louisville).
But these ladies fought through with FOCUS and GRIT.
AND NO EXCUSES!
The football team needs to absolutely learn a
A HUGE LESSON FROM THESE LADIES.
And which coach deserves the 11 million contract and extension?
Morrison or Elko...I will leave their resumes up to you to decide.
Football just got beat by a mediocre Miami team.
Volleyball HAMMERED THE TOP ECHELON TEAMS IN ALL OF THE UNITED STATES!!
These football players need to wake up and see what it takes to win a national title.
These ladies provided the PERFECT EXAMPLE.

Let's be fair. Miami only halfway sucks. They have a solid D with a really tough front 7 and good coverage in the secondary. But, their offense is the suck. Carson Beck looked lost Saturday.

Miami will lose to Ohio State because they won't be able to score.
It's a good thing it was Miami and not Notre Dame, because Notre Dame would've beat us 41-10 Saturday.
