Because we were the ONLY opening round team that had to host a truly complete opponent that has the talent to win it all.

Miami could've defeated ANY of the other host teams - Oregon, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma.

Yes. We have our own issues - stopping the run and running the ball ourselves - that, like Bama's issues, would likely result in not progressing deep into the playoffs. BUT we could have handled Tulane, JMU and I believe Alabama (or their host, Oklahoma).

Miami may win the whole thing.

Not being very good at football was the killer.

The SEC killed us once again.

If we had 9 games, the 9th would've been against someone actually good; Not some under .500 trash that we have to pretend is good by selectively picking Sagarin or composite talent rankings.

We would've either WON and been the 5 seed OR lost and been out of the playoffs.

Tulane, JMU would score touchdowns against Miami

Ohio State beats Miami by 20 on New Year's Eve

Maybe we shouldn't pee down our legs against tu next time.

We were put below Oregon and Ole Miss..........

......because we lost to tu......it's that simple!

We controlled our destiny and position for the SEC Championship game and the playoffs....

We did it to ourselves!

If you can't beat Miami, you aren't going very far in the bracket.

we score at the end of the tu game instead of throwing the same int we threw yesterday we stay above ole miss. A close loss on the road isn't as bad as a two score loss. Their loss to Uga also was only by 8 ours to sip was by 10. We had the worse loss of the 3 we needed to beat tu it wasn't recency bias like everyone suggested.

Not being able to complete some easy throws was yesterday's killer.

It's true, establish the run game and it'll open up your passing game.
But it's just as true, if they're schemed to stop the run, having an effective passing game can open up your run game.

Have you not seen the screenshot being posted everywhere on social media about our schedule?

It shows the SEC final standings and our wins all against the entire bottom half of the SEC against teams with a sub .500 conference record.

It also shows us playing the 5th place tu team and losing by double digits.

We are not a great team. We were slightly above average. It is what it is. We had an ideal schedule and if we don't lose to tu we would have played in the SEC CG and be in the Elite 8 and having hope still of winning it all.

It's our own fault. No one else's.

Miami is an above average ACC team. Having Michael Irvin on the sideline doesn't change that.

We were going to get exposed sooner or later. Klein, Reed, our inability to stop the long rush, and our kicking would have prevented us from winning a Natty had we gotten there.

It would have only saved us from this pain for a couple weeks... The way we played, Id assume it would have been worse against Tech, Georgia, OSU, and Indiana

Yes, we could have drilled a g5 that should not have been in the playoffs and then lost in the next round.

We were at the spot we earned and deserved. And the results proved that out yesterday. It really is that simple.

Agree.

But at least we would've had the chance to play New Year's eve in Arlington.

Not that there's anything wrong with that

Klein was the killer. He was the killer last year, too and I assure you had he not gotten the KSU job, Elko would have brought him back for year 3.

Your completing isn't that we were matched up against Miami. The complaint is that Tulane and JMU were in the CFP at all.

People don't think about Texas A&M near as often as you would think.

Unlike your username.

A&M isn't a laughingstock. It is just one more chip on the pile of an underachieving program.

If able to beat Texas, maybe a more favorable draw. There were 3 tough games this year- lost two of them.
Miami had their own warts, but their defense was really good and underestimated. Add to that sketchy QB play, no running game, and tons of pressure, and your bounced from the CFP. Ags had a good year, but probably, not a threat in this years Playoffs.

Yesterday was a golden opportunity for the passing game to shine. Klien, reed, and a garbage oline **** the bed.

Yes. If Notre Dame, tu, or Vanderbilt had been invited in place of JMU and Tulane, it would have made the other games and then overall playoffs seem more legit.

Though leaving tu out was at least a consolation prize to this past season - even if the Ags had nothing to do with it.

At the end of the day, the Playoffs expose your team for what it is. Toward the latter half of the season I started to get the impression that we are a Top #15 team and that's about it. That's how we looked against Sips and Miami, unfortunately. I don't really care about being seeded to maybe make it into the next round, I care about having the kind of team who can hang with and put points on anyone. We proved we weren't that...this season.

Tap the breaks on Miami. Their offense and Beck are not explosive at all. Great defense, but that won't win 4 games.

Miami is +2500 to win it all. You could retire early if you had actual confidence in them winning it all.
