We have reportedly told Atletico/La Liga/whoever that we are paying the release clause
I know this makes chjoak and myself happy if they pull it off. Partey is probably a bigger need than Aouar was, although there is still concerns with chance creations. We just really need someone that isn't gonna get run over in the midfield.Ag Since 83 said:

I would prefer a younger #6 but I do really like Partey. Just would have rather we bought him 3-4 yrs ago. Would still be nice to pull off an Aouar type as well but I think we can get by. My only thought is with the way this season has started, they're hoping a proven veteran like Partey can help get us that CL money and push the club up to where we want to go.
Sounds like Guendo to Germany is done and news has cooled off on Mustafi so he probably stays. We may move Sokratis still (hopefully) and Saliba could be loaned out.
I'm ready for Martinelli to come back from injury. Would love to see a front 3 of Martinelli-Auba-Pepe. I think the only time they started together last year was West Ham and all 3 scored.

That's my best guess. If it were my money I would be buying younger guys but it seems pretty obvious (Partey, WIllian, Luiz, etc...) that they think with a few properly placed vets we can make a push now and then rebuild while in a CL spot.wangus12 said:

Yeah. I have heard mixed info on fee/no fee but consistently heard no buy clause and Duezy will only have 1 yr left when he gets back so unless we can extend him that would put us in a bad spot trying to get a good return.Quote:

Just read that we supposedly have loan offers from Italian clubs for both Mustafi & Sokratis.
Its just annoying that every other club can sell people, but they'll only take our players on cheap loans or for free. Shows how bad a job we did in overpaying players. Liverpool sold Brewster for like 23m with approximately 0 premier league minutes.chjoak said:

From what I have read we have notified Partey and La Liga. Atletico can go F themselves after they flat out refused to negotiate with us and then forced our hand in the Lucas loan deal. I agree with the suggestion above. Tell them the loan of Lucas is off the table and we will sell him or nothing. If I am not mistaken we can still sell/loan him to Italy even after the EPL deadline as long as the Italian one is open.
Fans ripping Atletico on the twitter comments. Several suggesting that we give them a courtesy call to tell them we are taking Partey and pulling the Torreira loan deal.
