Hector Herrera started in EVERY meaningful WCQ the MNT played in where he wasn't injured. Not only did he start 9 games, he played 90 minutes in all of them except one when he was subbed off after 80 minutes.

The MNT played 570 minutes in Gold Cup 2021. Hector Herrera played in 562 of them.

Get the entire hell out of here if you expect anyone to believe that any even somewhat fan of the Mexican National Team doesn't know who he is. Go back to the politics board where that sort of nonsense will get you triple digit blue stars.

So where does HH fit? I've always thought of him as a pivot rather than an attacking playmaker, but haven't watch him too much at ATM. He strikes me as player who can improve our ball control / rondo skill. If so, would you put him in that pivot / holding mid role and push Carrasquilla and Ceren forward? Would the HH - Coco combo control the midfield such that Quintero's touches are more in the attacking third?

HH takes Ceren's spot in my opinion. Push Carrasquilla up the pitch more. Vera and HH play in that Central midfield role
