Going to be in London this weekend. I brain farted and forgot there were games this weekend so did not plan ahead.

Old boss works in London and told me he just used Stub Hub to buy tickets so I was going to do that for Chelsea vs Everton (this is the only close game this weekend I found). Yes a bit pricey but on the bucket list.

Should I go for seats on the lower level (closer to field but can't see much) or up high? I know English fans can be nuts but wasn't sure where to sit. I know at KC Chiefs football games I've sat in the upper deck ONE TIME and never will again b/c the fans were so miserable. Lower deck ($$), not so much.

Thanks

Went to a game there earlier this season. The second deck is fine. It is like sitting at Kyle on the lower portion of our second deck. The first deck is a little more in the atmosphere of the game and would be worth a little more money for the experience.

Be aware that they are picky about which entrances your tickets get you into. Be prepared to walk around the stadium to find your entrance.

If you take the subway, there will be trains lined up after the game. This makes it really easy to get that many people out of the area.

I have been to a ton of English Premier League and Bundesliga games. Chelsea is by far the most tame of fans. Other than complaining about everything going on, it is very safe.

Tickets say Westview Entrance which the train station is on the west side of the stadium so hopefully don't have to walk around to much.

Now, where to buy merchandise? I assume all over the city but likely the stadium store will be 2x the cost of anywhere else (like a NFL or MLB stadium).

Says we are in the Westview Block 7 (so up high).

Just to follow up, went to the game and got in no problem. Had a blast, cheers/chants were fun.

Chelsea won 1-0. Was hoping for a few more goals, they certainly had opportunities, but still a good time. Watching these guys play was just amazing. Just so good with the first touch and with the ball. The #7 forward from Chelsea was really good and created several opportunities for Chelsea. Since I ref soccer I also watched the center to see how he managed the game and positioned himself during play.

That being said, the tickets were pretty expensive on StubHub by the time I paid the fees (about 20% on top of the ticket cost). If you know you're going way in advance, do the club membership thing and try to buy thru the club. Much cheaper. Single tickets (as in by yourself, not two together) were about 1/2 the price of the single tickets that were together (as in $100 x 1 instead of $200 x 2). Sometimes the clubs will release returned tickets as well so email/call them first.

Or try StubHub International the day of the match. I expect the tickets would go down as the match gets closer.

So how much were your tickets? I am only asking to compare to a hospitality package I purchased. Feel free to be as vague or specific as you are comfortable

If you don't mind me asking, what did the hospitality package set you back in USD? I assume it was at Anfield.

I had a similar experience getting last-minute tickets for a Premier League match when I was in London last year. Didn't plan ahead either and panicked a bit, but managed to get a seat in the lower corner section at Stamford Bridge. Honestly, it was pricey but worth it just for the vibe and being close to the action. The view wasn't perfect for off-the-ball movement, but you really feel the energy near the pitch compared to sitting way up top. If you're looking again in the future for better prices or just more options, especially last-minute ones, I've had better luck checking out Premier League tickets here, https://www.seatpin.com/premier-league-tickets. They've got a bunch of team matchups listed and it's pretty easy to filter what you're after.

I have purchased two. The first was Liverpool vs Man United in March 2023 (the 7-0 win) and I paid $1100. Other seat options were cheaper and other games were cheaper too. I saw packages as low $600. The second was vs West Ham this season. I paid $1000 for that one. We were closing in on a title so I am sure that that had something to do with the inflated price. Plus, we had very good seats.

With all the fees it was $600 for two tickets.
