It takes guts and he has them 10 fold

Playing on the margins finally caught up to them

We'll see what Mikel does with the offense next season.

Two of five shots weren't on net! Make the keeper save your shot!!

Agreed. I don't hate that he stepped up there.

He's the heart of our team along with Rice.

This was obviously going to happen the way we use subs, but if you asked me to pick 5 Arsenal players for a shootout, 3 of them were on the bench

Saka
Odegaard
Havertz

I'm gutted, but refuse to let a shootout for the UCL final sour my mood on Arsenal this season.

It has been maddening and incredibly enjoyable at the same time to watch them win like they have, with seemingly every media outlet and popular opinion working against them.

PSG wants no part of Arsenal. I can promise you from the last 10 minutes of regulation through the extra time, we were the stronger team. We had the depth. We just failed to risk it all to avoid the PK's.

This team is going to continue to be a problem in all competitions moving forward. Be proud, Gooners. The future is bright.

Not terribly frustrated with today's result, just disappointed. Good defense is difficult to beat, but having a defensive offense is not the way to beat the best teams in the world. Champions league still unobtainium for Arsenal.

The Gunners have plenty of juice on offense, would like to see Arteta loosen the reins some next year.

Great season!

You mean it got us to PKs in the Champions League final?

Just wait to post that tomorrow or in a few hours. We know you're consistently frustrated with the way Arteta leads the team but read the ****ing room.

PKs suck but you can't play beyond 120+ minutes. Great season and hope the boys can get back to the final and win it. They have been better every year of the competition.

Tough pill to swallow but that does not lessen the celebration from last 2 weeks.

Dear Stan, keep the checkbook wide open.

Playing on the margins caught up to us? We went to PKs in the Champions League final and their only other goal was a PK. He did a great job this season and yet you never miss a single chance to question or criticize him.

And now I'm making it worse. I'm out for 24 hours.

Also, they just highlighted in the post match coverage that Arsenal didn't take home the trophy, but failed to lose a match the entire tournament.

WOW.

Maybe, but only one team scored in open play and it wasn't PSG. Playing an open game would have been doing exactly what PSG wanted. We may play better attacking ball next year, but we will play the same way if we see that oil nation again. We had several chances today that we could have taken but either didn't pass or had to heavy of a touch

Um, anyone analyzing this team all season long knows this team plays on the margins. To win that way, particularly against teams that are better than you, you have to be near perfect. They played really well tonight, but made critical mistakes. It was always going to be hard to see out that 1-0 win.

That's not me complaining about Arteta, that's analyzing the game, which you know, is what this message board is for.

If you need to take a 24 hour break, that's on you, not me. Grow up.

No one needs to take a break or go to timeout. We're all on the same side here.

Get it out. Whatever you need to do. Just aim it into the ether and not at each other

Felt much worse after losing the meaningless cup final earlier this year, I have to say

I think we were the better team on the night. We sat in comfortable silence and one singular mistake cost us. Not multiple. Just one. From a 21 year old CB playing out of position against the best winger in the world.

PSG had 21 shots and if you remove the penalty the had less than 1xg. They created **** all.

The match was there in ET and I wish we'd push a little harder for it.

Stoked as I've ever been to be a gooner, but certainly surprised that we played directly into the scouting report given the nothing to lose position we were in. We ended with 25/75 possession and it honestly felt 10/90. **** PSG. Yeah, they have one of the best attacks on earth…in Ligue 1 and on several weeks of rest. There's simply not a universe wherein I believe Mikel wouldn't regret how we came out. Sure, we had chances, many of which were pissed away with seemingly intimidated players, but we seemed all too content to sit on that first goal and squeeze out the 1-0 victory. I'd have much preferred to match the aggression with the offensive juice we have and lose 1-3 than to lose a nail biter in PKs.

Proud as hell of our boys, but what could have been. PSG was not the superior team today. They're just the team that survived. I still personally think it was a massive mistake to start Mosquera over timber and hincapie over cali, but maybe that's just me. Cali to me, was a guy that could really level that playing style in our favor. Instead, we leaned into our defensive prowess, and I think it was the wrong move in this match.

Just kind of sucks in that PSG didn't really do anything to win that game. It was more us giving it to them with mistakes.

In hindsight, would have been interesting to see what happened if Timber came on after half. I assume we were worried about fitness, but he ended up playing 70+ minutes anyway. Would have preferred we thanked Mosquera for a good half and then seen if Timber could lock it down.

Oh well. Great season. Got as close as you can possibly get for the double

We have no idea how they take PKs in training…that being said, it was a terrible take from Gabriel
