Kinda surprised we didn't try to get Calafiori and Merino out for PKs. I don't remember what the substitute situation was though, towards the end of extra time.

I thought Timber should have come on right after the yellow. But oh well. Maybe they were trying to get him on.

Sucks for Gabriel and a real shame Eze got himself all tangled up on his.

Eze is more disappointing to me than Gabriel

it's like he had a full body/mind glitch in the moment. I thought he was gonna trip over his feet. Brutal for him.

Lol the backlash over losing is hilarious. All this week I've seen pundits talk about how Arsenal needed to be perfect to beat PSG and how we were definitely going to lose by several goals and had almost zero chance. How the PSG forward press and goal scoring would be unstoppable.

Now the pundit response is that we were "embarrassing" by the way we played and that PSG without a doubt deserved to win. Zero acknowledgment that both our starting FBs were out and we still almost completely nullified them. I don't think they created a single chance from progressive buildup other than the penalty. They constantly ripped shots from 25 yards and prayed. Their best 2 chances came on break aways when we were starting to push forward and people are saying we should have done that the entire match..

I've watched this exact match tons of times in the last 10 years of Wenger's career where we'd dominate possession and lose or draw the game and the media would love the opposing team for it. But when we do it, all of sudden we've destroyed the game. The double standard is ridiculous.

Great season and time to go again. Kinda sucks that they have the parade tomorrow because today was emotionally exhausting. ****ing hate penalties.

Hope we keep the pedal down and continue to improve.

Obviously couldn't do the parade at any other time with the players needing to head off to the World Cup, but man we are gonna get some extra online stick for having a parade the day after losing the CL final

PSG created very little to nothing beyond, ironically, counter attacks. Vitinha basically spent half the match dribbling back and forth like he was a sentry on guard watch.

Looking back on the Mosquera penalty, he didn't need to make the tackle. Mosquera had already done the main job of forcing Kvicha to the left and towards the touchline. We probably had it covered from there barring something amazing.

Oh well.

Parade was cool. They are reporting the crowds were even larger than expected.

I usually start the new thread immediately but we can celebrate another day or two.

easy to sit here and armchair qb I know, but I'm still stupefied by that mosquera penalty. so much why. if they score there, it was going to be brilliance...take that chance. Just a bluster of a decision by a guy who's personally annoyed me a lot throughout the season.

Yeah, everyone in the bar I was watching at was screaming for that sub at half. He did hold up well first half, but I'm sure Mikel regrets the later sub in hindsight

I expected it to come.

I also expected to see Calafiori later in the match when we were a little more on the front foot but it seems like Arteta was comfortable with the back line's performance.

I am sure Timber was cleared for no more than 30 minutes and the defense was doing fine at halftime. I am guessing we wouldve shut them out if he was fit for this one.

One, I'm sorry if I ruined the thread yesterday. I should have handle my aggravation with a single poster better and just not respond.

If you start Timber and he can't handle it, you're stuck with a very early sub. I thought Mosquera held his own most of his time on the field and got beat by a world class player. Unfortunately, the other team practices as well.

Overall, we turned the game into a coin flip and not many people expected that. We played our game better than PSG did and it was fun. I enjoy watching a good defense play, no matter the sport, and we shut their ass down. They had no answer for what we were doing, so screw those people who say we ruined the game or football. Our style got us almost to where we wanted to go and we have areas of upgrade to make. PSG are a really good team and they have been dominating other teams all year long and I'll call bull**** on anyone that says they were clearly better than us yesterday. We made them very pedestrian. Congrats on all your completed passes that did nothing but pad that stat.

Our left side has been our biggest issue for this season (behind injuries) and I look forward to us improving there.

Again, what a team and what a season. Repeating is one of the most difficult thing to do and we have a chance.

We had a table on the 1st tier in the dome at COSM, not nearly as cool as the middle of the 2nd tier but you do feel like you're there (kind of) after a while. I was blown away at the amount of pitch side studio shows being hosted there. It looked like around 20 networks from all over the world were doing that pre-match.

It turns out FEDEX rented out the entire 2nd tier of COSM.
