I think you are underestimating the importance of a great coach. These girls could be winning some of these games with a great coaching staff. This program has been held hostage by G for far too long. He is the problem.

No I 100% understand. The coaching is not good enough. My point was we shouldn't be acting like the players deserve better ( I will always support them regardless). There is a major lack of talent right now that it'll be hard to win with regardless of coach

This is a bottom 4 roster in the SEC. It's a bunch of midmajor transfers and freshman. You have your head in the sand if you think otherwise

I feel like the change in formation was a good change. Watched the entire game against Arkansas and Tennessee, and felt we outplayed them both. Had more shots than both teams, but man we have zero ability to finish. Frustrating to watch a third 0-1 loss in a row.

There has been a major lack of top tier talent for years. Nobody of any value respects or wants to play for G. I think we have a fairly young team, but he is not getting the recruits he needs to be competitive. I'm not going to blame the players when it's on the coaches. There is a reason he can't recruit those players anymore.

Anyway, it's over. Just praying we can finally move on from G at the end of the season. Thank him for his efforts and go get someone that can shake things up and turn us into something special again.

I agree. Outplayed #10 and #5 in the country, and that makes the comments about no talent on the roster seem wrong to me. Our defense has been pretty solid, we have not one but two solid goalies, and Buchanan can play at this level. But you need multiple goal scorers in order to win at this level and that is where is the talent is lacking. Where would this team be if we had kept O'Rourke, Yolinsky, Ivey and Bacerra? Not sure we would win a championship, but sure would be a lot more dangerous offensively.

the players compete hard; respect & credit to them...despite how most of us feel about G, wish the girls could at least experience something positive in conference play.

is that lack of talent talent, style of play (coaching), lack of recruiting, inability to retain talent, poor execution? it's likely a combination of all of them

I do feel bad for the girls because they are indeed playing hard and deserved at least a tie in the last two matches against supposedly Top 10 opponents. However, the lack of punch or any real offensive threat outside of maybe Diaz makes it very difficult to generate enough chances in front of goal to score. In some ways you could argue the coaching hasn't been terrible since we're hanging with more talented teams but just not getting that deserved result that could turn things around. But at the end of the day, being shutout in SEC play through 4 matches is simply not acceptable, regardless of your roster. Let's hope G can at least beat Texas one last time next week. Otherwise we are pretty much guaranteed to finish last in the SEC in his final season. A sad way for his career to end.

clearly you haven't watched Gs 30byear career - this is the best the players will be in his program - they do not develop and regress the longer they are under his coaching

the club coaches develop players and G doesn't period endonod story hell he just works with the keepers for 250k a year and has never produced a world class keeper

The point is that this roster is exactly the roster this staff wanted. They've said they are glad last year's roster is gone and glad this year's roster is here. So it's absolutely on the coachesthis team is exactly the team they said they wanted to field.

Personally I find it bizarre recruiting and also totally fair ground for criticism of the coaches. The players are who they are and I pull for them. But it's not even close to a proven top-league-talent roster.

you're correct...didn't G say "the girls who left were 10th place finishers"? The player selections and results are totally on the coaches...especially when ever transfer from A&M is on a higher ranked team than A&M.
