This is the official thread for Group H. Group H contains Spain, Cabo (or Cape) Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
The only group that features 2 prior World Cup Winners. 2010 Champions Spain come in as one of the favorites for this year, mainly led by teenage sensation Lamine Yamal. Yamal is carrying an injury from his domestic campaign so may not feature very much in what should be a very easy group for Spain. Uruguay have won the World Cup twice, but both of those came over 75+ years ago. They will also be expected to advance. Saudi Arabia are in their 7th World Cup, but haven't advanced out of the group stage since their first appearance, which was also in the United States. The other fairytale story of this World Cup, Cabo Verde were officially the smallest nation to every qualify before Curacao also made it through. Unfortunately they ended up in a massively difficult group and I hope they relish the moment because the goal differential may not be pretty.
----------------------------------
Spain win Group H as expected, although not really comfortably. Cabo Verde pulls an improbable outcome and finishes 2nd in the group. Their reward is a date with reigning champs Argentina. Uruguay are the highest ranked team officially going home early. Saudi Arabia were just kinda there and finish 4.
