Awesome! We took our 10 yo to Wrigley for his birthday last year for the first time. It was possibly the best day any of us had. Highly recommend the Wrigley Field tour.

We won't have time for the tour, unfortunately - I've done it a couple times before but he definitely has not.

We're going to fly into Cleveland and catch an Indians game on Friday (theyre playing the sox so he's hoping Braden is called up by then), then drive to South Bend for our game, then finish in Chicago on Sunday.....it'll be one of those high action, always on the move trips....I've been planning it for 10+ years

Awesome! Not sure age but I know Sundays have recently been kid run the bases days after the game. We picked a Sunday game for this last year but of course ESPN picked it up and turned the 1:20 game into a night game.

Question for those that have been:

Family is going to chicago this summer to visit (never been) and hit up both Wrigley and White Sox park. Going at the end of July where Cubs play home stand then play Sox on Friday.

Is there a good place to 'sit' at Wrigley? Is there a good spot for the 'fan experience'? I'm an Astros guy (sorry), so just want to visit the park and see a good game. TIA

are you wearing astros gear? If so, don't go to the bleachers. IF you are not, sit in bleachers. Also when buying tickets, there are some restricted view seats so make srue you didn't get those. Those suck! IF you are in the shade in july, it could be chilly.

No I'm not one of those people. I think the cubs are playing the royals, so my youngest will be wearing his little league hat because they were the same team (although he's on the cubs this year, so he could be wearing that).

Anyway to see which seats are limited view?

if small kids, i would avoid bleachers, it could be rowdy. They like to have a good time. I like the seats around third base dugout area and down the line.

I second this. The bleachers are a lot of fun, but folks sitting there consume a lot of beer so probably not the best place to be if you're taking along little kids.

My son & I sat along the third baseline when I took him a few years ago.

Make sure you also take time to walk around the outside perimeter of the park before the game. It's a very festive scene.

we were probably 20-25 rows up halfway between dugout and foul pole. I enjoyed when I took my kids. I would have him wear cubs gear and make a sign that is it your first time at wrigley all the way from texas. We were the first family shown on the jumbotron.

Good mailbox day....all the scattered cards I needed to complete all the 1980-1990 Topps and Topps Traded team sets.

EXCEPT I just realized I missed Mitch Webster on my 1990 list.....soooo close!

The 1970s are going to be a bit slower because they're not as inexpensive

Update: I'm complete from '76-'93 now

I simultaniously started working on some jersey cards....trying to get the top players from each era and cover all the different jersey styles....

Fergie, Banks, Billy, Santo

Ryno, Dawson, Grace, Sosa, Maddux

Wood, Prior, Zambrano, D.Lee, Nomar (more of a personal favorite than a Cubs great)

Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarbs, Baez, Arrieta, Lester, Zo

PCA

Busted my budget with that rabbit hole so I need to save back up before continuing to work through the 70s

Japan was a mess

But clean start last night! Unfortunately, I fell asleep in the 2nd inning....that 9:10 start time got me....but I'll take the W!

Make sure you check out PCA's great baserunning play that extended the inning and allowed Amaya to clear the bases.

It was 35 degrees at Wrigley last night. By comparison, it was 38 degrees when the Blackhawks played St. Louis in the NHL Winter Classic on New Year's Eve.

if the Cubs come out of April with a winning record without Steele… I feel like this team might be dangerous.

I know that Tucker and Suzuki won't stay this hot all season, but nobody has a harder April schedule than the Cubs

Yep, 100%. These next two weeks are especially brutal. It will be interesting how they handle Shaw as he has struggled here out of the gate. Not like they really have a ton of other options though.

I still have faith in his development. Hopefully he can turn a corner here soon though

Man, Steele out for the season, likely TJ. Hopefully the SP depth will be able to adequately cover the loss for now, and management goes out and gets someone via trade eventually.

Great series win in LA, however!

Definitely a great win. But I am definitely concerned about the pitching without Steele

My guy has hit for the cycle, hitting .419, 6 home runs, 18 RBIs and a 1.675 OPS and it's APRIL 18th!

Not to mention, he's only had 43 plate appearances.

He's slugging 1.000 for Pete's sake!

In a normal season where's he's playing every day, that pace would give him 75 home runs and 271 RBIs with an OPS+ of 338 and a WAR of 18.0!

I understand that this is a fluky stretch… but you gotta love the hometown 30 year old going nuclear!

Man, between the comeback on Friday against Arizona, the multiple comebacks tonight, and sitting at 5 games over .500 during the schedule from hell this month, there might be something special about this team. For the first time since 2016, the offense is good enough to feel like we're never really out of a game.

They are fun to watch no doubt! Like a true Cubs fan with BCS (battered Cubs syndrome) I was lamenting how I wasted my afternoon Friday watching the game after they coughed up the lead. But these guys just stormed back and kicked the DBacks in the nuts!

Great win last night! Hopefully we play the Dodgers again in October.

after the last few years, my BCS is still high, but hopefully they keep investing in building this team.

I hope they start investing more financially in this roster. We've been operating like a small market team without having any of the revenue draft/IFA advantages of those teams. Start by extending Tucker and PCA.

my issue. I feel like they are being way too cheap. I don't expect yankees or dodgers, but spend some money

Yep. They did try to sign Tanner Scott to more present day value than what he signed for with the Dodgers. Some noise with a late push for Bregman, but I was not as high on that at the time. So I give them that. But that was about it for anything big this offseason.

Ideally they would have extended Tucker already to give them some flexibility in trading for a solid SP/RP, likely dealing AAA OF Depth of Caissie or Alcantara.
