Which bats are coming back? Not Yordan or Jake

Some rando dad on my flight to Pitt says his son is an orthopedic who works with the team says "Yordan will be back this season"… to which I said 'the medical team licks' (which garnered a look)
So, out for year likely

Two words that we are terrible at…situational hitting. We don't bunt strategically, we don't steal bases enough, we don't hit behind runners, we don't hit sac flies. We swing for the fences and pound the ball into the ground right at the shortstop when we have runners on base. We get plenty of hits and have plenty of baserunners, but we have an absolutely braindead set of hitters when it comes to what to do with runners on base ahead of them.
The conversations between the Astros and Twins for Correa go all the way back to February, from what I was told. As with most trades, they don't happen overnight but take months to figure out.

As we got close to the deadline, I can confirm Christian Walker was being discussed…
Christian Walker has played in 50 games since the start of June and is slashing .269/.332/.435 in 214 PA's.

I'm glad Dana shut that down quickly. https://t.co/mvyAGwEbEi

Can someone explain why I saw Hummel play yesterday and Melton is with Sugar Land?

Assuming they want Melton playing every day and the extra OF with the MLB team is only going to get a few spot starts here and there.

Also, the pitching has fallen off a cliff. Good pitching made up for a lot of the offensive issues up to this point.

I wanted an arm badly - some on here strongly disagreed and I understand because there was a big need for bats as well.
Spencer should be fine once he gets ramped back up - that's a plus.
I have no faith in Luis Garcia. He's extremely out of shape. The organization is managing their expectations here as well. Edit to add: I know before the injury the team had planned on transitioning him into a high leverage bullpen arm. They think his stuff could be elite out of the bullpen. I'm not sure if that's still the plan, but I believe it is.
Javier could turn out just fine but will need time to get ramped back up. He looked bad his last rehab start but I'm not too concerned yet. It's just going to take time - the concern isn't "if" but "when" as far as him contributing.
LMJ is LMJ. I personally think his days as a legitimate contributor are behind him.
I think you'll take anything you can get from JP France.

I think the prayer here is that by mid-to-late-August you can have a rotation with Valdez, Brown, Arrighetti, Javier, and Walter with Gordon and Alexander as depth pieces.

I'm hopeful on Arighetti and Javier. Garcia I'm not counting on anything for 2025. Just hoping he's fine in 2026
To me France is the 5 starter who you hope can be decent sometimes

After seeing the stat where France was topping out at 91/92 on his fastball in his rehab starts, I really have doubts that he will be able to contribute in a meaningful way unless he is absolutely pinpointing the edges ala Dallas Keuchel 2015
