The only thing that's good about this is that this team will likely be handed over to a competent manager next season.

There's no reason whatsoever; barring a WS run that feels unlikely for a team getting ready to go 6 games under .500 over their last quarter of the season; for this staff to return. 0-2 playoff last year and feeling that making the playoffs this year is definitely up in the air after 7 straight ALCS appearances.

Is Joe capable of lighting a fire beer this team? I noticed the O's make aggressive swings and our batters swung big extremely tentatively. Peña's last at bat looked like he didn't want to be in the batters box. And don't remind me of Correa's lack of hustle when Holliday muffed the ground ball and still threw Carlos out.

the Astros are currently winning the division and has played much of the summer with scrubs all over the lineup card. Why the **** would you think they would fire espeda?

We'll rightly talk about the pitching, but this is a complete no-show of a series by the offense.

I cannot take another year of Alex Cintron baseball. He is not to blame for having to coach minor leaguers because of injuries, but it's not the newbies causing the problem. If he can't coach Dubon and Diaz to watch a MFing pitch on occasion, leave. If Espada cannot convince his good buddy to change his "aggression over everything" mentality, leave.

Someone brought up RISP stats earlier and showed the Astros are 14th in the league. Now compare that to batting average overall- 3rd. Compare that to runs per game- 19th. Compare that to balls in play percentage- 6th. Compare that to walks- 25th. Compare that to hard hit percentage- 28th. This team, even when healthy, values contact of any kind and especially when runners are in scoring position. It leads to a lot of weak contact and low scoring games.

Here's the only real stat you need. Joe talked about how the team became too aggressive last year at the plate and the coaches supposedly made it a point of emphasis in West Palm. Check the numbers- the Astros are tied for 30th in pitches per plate appearance. DEAD ASS LAST- AGAIN.

You have more faith in a team who's done nothing but disappoint the last several decades than a team who's last 8 years have been one of the best runs in baseball and despite the suckage today is still in first place?

To be fair (and I'm not suggesting Cintron doesn't need to wear some of this) he's not exactly working with a collection of silver sluggers here.

In no particular order, these are the hitters we have trotted out this year who either should not be hitting at all or only in small parts (not regular every day). Most of these are due to one thing: injuries of regular guys.
