He has a .730 OPS as a backup catcher/DH/1st baseman in 322 PAs and 92 games after tonight.

That's better than Dubon, Walker, Diaz, Cam, and all the rotating AAAA squad and our other backups. His bat has been better than either our starting catcher or 1st baseman's by OPS and OPS+.

I think it's mainly they don't think he's as good a catcher as Diaz, Walker is ensconced at 1st, and Altuve needs the DH spot whenever we're playing somewhere we don't want him in the field.

He had a handful of posts bemoaning the Oriole's injuries this afternoon and a few posts during the game.

Seattle doesn't get their first baserunner until the fifth inning, but it's Suarez's 40th homer to tie the game at 1.

Meanwhile, Woo has only given up a homer to Rooker and two walks.

Watching Mariners-As, and I can't tell you how much I dislike the Ms and how unlikeable they are.

With all the managerial pitching changes, tracking pitch counts, preserving pitcher's arms, etc., it's becoming more and more difficult for pitchers to win 20 games in a season. Used to be several that would win that many in a season but rare to see now. I remember when Denny McClain for Detroit won 30 back in the 60's.
