Very happy with our teams approach at the plate today. A lot of patience, several walks, working the pitch count up. Hopefully this is what we will see more of this year.

Altuve was the only loose bat, and you expect him to rake. His three Ks were all on balls well out of the zone.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Also, the infield defense looked solid (which is what we are counting on). That portends well for Framber and Hunter Brown.

Impressed with Parades at third base. Is it just me or did Dana seemed to be much more relaxed when he was in the booth with Blum and TK? Bet he's pretty happy with his offseason results.

I'm guessing it was refreshing to not have to worry about getting the "are you going to extend Bregman or Tucker" questions

There were quite a few big late innings across the league today. Lots of 3, 4, 5 run innings. At least we held them to one.

Yep. Lots of "closers" became "losers".

I just saw the angels pitched a position player in their blow out loss to the white Sox. Talk about a new low

We take the ugly ones too

Atmosphere in the park was a little odd today. You would think the park was half empty based by the seats but walking down the concourse(s) was an absolute madhouse. Like everyone congregating in the kitchen at a house party that's where everyone seemed to spend most of their time

I'd imagine the team store lines were crazy with people getting new merch and city connect

Hunter 7 innings. Scott 1 inning and then Montero in the 9th because we are ahead by 8

Wild stat:

In 7 innings, Framber threw 90 pitches.
In 2 innings, Abreu/Hader threw 60

In hindsight, I wonder if Espada wishes he would have given Framber one more inning. He really caught his stride towards the latter part of his outing. Glad it worked out in the end, but it was way more adventurous than I would have preferred

Not worth pushing Framber in game 1. He was at 90 pitches.

Try April, at this rate.

After 1 game, we've got an Astros' Bingo update!

The new co-leaders with 2 squares each are:

texasaggie2015
RO519
tjack16
Chief Elko
Johnsy3
AggieJ2002
JB12
JohnnyTxAg1995
Booma94
Socrates, using his ancient Greek philosophy
MosesHallsomethingorother
GigemMortis
linkdude
wmitchell
Mr Bond

Only Padhz picked the team to straight up lose the opener. texasaggie2015 used a little 2 for 1 strategy and picked them to win and lose to guarantee 1 square for certain, but at the cost of burning one for sure.

So congrats to you noble 15! If the season ended today, each of you would receive a total of $6.67 from myself and Marvin and 1/15th of a tumbler.

Unless someone gets traded or SIngleton resigns or LMJ pitches, it will be a while until the next update. Although I'm going to make a second slide on the Google Sheets and keep up with all of the totals on there as a fun side project because I am a big nerd.
TexAgs2001 was the only person to pick us being in first at the end of April.

More interesting things after I do some actual work since I did jack **** all day.

And Jake will continue to rake!
