Looks like Dubon is going to be the regular second baseman with Dezenzo making the team. I think Rodgers was worth a longer look. Hopefully we can keep him around in AAA

Trying to figure out where Chas is getting the ABs.
Jake had an OPS+ of 113 against LHP last year. Not exactly a platoon option for Jake and Chas.
I'm rooting for Cam, but I personally would have given the first month of ABs to Chas in RF as a last chance to see if the "good ABs" he's taken during ST translates to results and started Cam in AAA.

I don't think there is any way he can meet the expectations of the fan base this year… But I think he will be showing enough flashes of good that we are happy with him being on the team this year. He definitely has more upside than the alternative options
I'd much rather deal with the rookie ups and downs with Cam than run Chas out there

If Smith and Dezenzo are both in and Hummel is out, Rodgers would have to get the last spot, as I'm not sure Short provides much value. I'd take a guy with a chance to be the everyday second baseman over a guy that's at best your backup SS and late inning pinch runner.
