Well there are reasons not to, mainly because you can't spend as much money on the draft or international free agency. It's more relevant in a year where you have a pending free agent that will get a qualifying offer (Framber this year or Bregman last year). Basically you don't want to go over just to go over but agreed we have more than enough revenue to support where we were last year. This coming free agency class is weaker but there are good starting pitchers. I don't love spending on pitching but not sure we will have much choice with Framber leaving and a fairly weak farm system.
