It's just a bad series. I'm not going to go all hyperbolic on it.

The team is far from awful, just has really bad periods of inconsistency like this.

Pena needing another rest day doesn't help. Throwing out Gordon doesn't help, we should have expected a loss today anyways. The loss last night hurts a lot more.

But whatever, just try and win one game at a time. No reason why we can't turn things around quickly. Despite the result, the lineup is vastly improved recently.

The single to left was very shallow. It didn't take much of a throw to get Walker.

He can potentially see into Neris's glove and see grip. He can also tell location based on the catcher without the hitter peaking back.

Definitely not a thing. Not all that rare, or necessarily bad, to get the 3rd out at home. It's a game of odds. If it's a 50/50 play at home you're sending him. Much better odds than getting another hit.

That said, not sure that was a good send for a variety of reasons.

well there's roster construction and then there's trading Tuck for Paredes/Smith (in a good year that's maybe a push XBH-wise) and then there's having your big XBH guys (Yordan/ESock/Pena) get injured for long stretches. Altuve and Yainer/CW are starting to wake up in the slug dept, so gotta hope for more positive volatility!
