They've made all of this ground up by having a run of 19 of 26 games at home, 16 of 26 against teams under .500 and have lost absolutely nobody of significance to injury.

If they can keep pace over the next 26 (where they play 18 of 26 on the road) and 12 against teams over .500, then I'll consider them a threat.

They exploited the Astros bottoming out in terms of injury and a tough schedule run to tighten the race. The Astros feel primed for a run and the Mariners will likely fall off.

Like a 3 weeks ago when we were really struggling but still 6 or 7 games up I circled August 14 (the day after red Sox series) and said if we can still be in the lead or tied on this day, I'll actually feel pretty good. Unfortunately we are a little behind that pace, but the schedule was stupid easy for the Ms the last 2-3 weeks and it's about to turn. Just keep winning series and we'll be fine.
