He's trying to come back for October

Hopefully not at the expense of half of 2026

Thanks but no thanks to Pressly. I barely survived last season….

If the question is would you rather have Pressly or Neris, I'm on team Pressly

He actually had a pretty long stretch of great relief work this season and is a proven playoff winner

I hear you, but man his outings about killed me last season. Dubin will take the place of Neris. Who you gonna cut if you add Pressly?

Getting one back of Javier or Garcia at the level they are capable would be huge down the stretch.

Big start by Javier tonight.

Hader hopefully just needs a couple days off.

Just can't trust Nervis, Okert, and King. The latter two have hit a wall, and Nervis is who he is.

Cubs released him last week.

good discussion on the post-game show about Neris

reaching the 10-year mark is a really, really big deal for players

cutting him 2 or 3 days before he reached the milestone would be very unpopular in the clubhouse

Pressly was a bttch ass about not being the closer last season

Well he might have a chance to get that job back when Hader inevitably needs surgery.

Who would you take to get 1 out in the 9th inning right now:Pressley or 48-year-old Brad Lidge who hasn't pitched since 2012?

Framber
Brown
Javier
Arrighetti

There's your top 4 starters. Then McCullerd, Garcia, Walter, and Alexander to provide 5th and potentially 6th starters down the stretch.

Sousa making his case to be the lefty middle relief guy in the pen.

Since Pujols retired… Lidge.

I'd take Alexander over Spaghetti based on their recent outings.

Arizona blew it against Arlington. 6-1 lead in the 7th and just got walked off

Isn't it enough that Arizona gave them the gift of playing possibly the worst team ever to make it to the WS?

Snakes could've possibly stuck a fork in them tonight. Now they've only gotta go 26-15…….

If Hader comes back soon… Joe needs to ONLY use him in save situations. No more 2 innings or pitching in a tie game or blowout

random baseball thought this morning because I was looking at the active HR leaders.

it is absurd that Mike Trout is one of the best baseball players ever and he might as well not even exist. Completely irrelevant career with regards to the league and especially now...you dont even see videos of him on Twitter.

I forget he even plays until we play the Angels

how have they never traded him? makes no sense

Those are his games played for the last six seasons… I think that's the biggest issue. Being injured all the time and being on a bad team is a pretty bad combination for popularity.

New superstars have emerged in his absences

I looked up his BR page just to remind myself that at one time he was the best player on the planet. You're right, he's forgettable and no longer moves the needle. I suppose he is still a 1st ballot HOFer, but it is wild how much he has fallen off since Judge/Ohtani burst on the scene.

Trout is on a 12 year, $426.5M contract through 2030. Rendon (another IL hero) is on a 7 year, $245M contract through 2026. Those two are why the Halos are broke and that they are so pitiful.

just a hunch but I bet if he was on a contender those games played would be about double

When my son and I went to see the Astros play at Anaheim, a fan was really chirping at us. My son said "well, you guys need to let Mike Trout go so he can get a ring." The guy looked sad and said, "You're right. 100% truth."

if Lance is still out there...

time to begin the bullpen experiment

see if he can be an effective 1 inning guy

While this idea sounds nice, keep in mind that he can't throw strikes. That experiment needs to have very little rope for him. We can't keep "hoping" that he will just magically become the pitcher we all hoped he would be.

Don't know who would want to take this contract on given he's going to miss chunks of every season.

They should have traded him when his value was higher and they would have gotten an insane haul from a team like LAD, NYM, or NYY

I'd take Cooper Hummel. He's shown more on the mound this year and it keeps him on the roster miraculously. He just won't die.

Would you trade Meyers for Trout plus $15 million per year for the life of the contract?

If you could guarantee me he'd play 110+ games a year, yes. He's still a 30+ HR guy and he crushes it at Daikin

This years stats and Jake has only played 2 less games than him in 2025 (89 games for Jake, 91 for trout)

Only 3 home runs in nearly 300 ABs is crazy in todays baseball.
