We had so many chances to take it ourselves and ended up hoping other teams lost

Didnt deserve to be in this year

A season where you lead the division for the vast majority of it (literally until the end of September), and not only blow the division, but also blow the playoffs entirely...

Is hugely disappointing. No other way to put it. There's no excuse for it. Bad management. Piss poor player approaches at the end. They just gave up.

My wife and I were just saying the same thing. Hard to take.

When we fire Espada and are looking for a new manager, I'd hire the guy who is going to tell the starting pitcher on Friday, May 15th 2026 to go 95 fastball to the leadoff hitters head first time we face them next season to send a message for the bush league bottom of the ninth they pulled tonight to have the satisfaction of eliminating the Astros from the playoffs.

Mostly a lurker on here though I do try and get more vocal during the playoffs (even caught my first ban in '22 posting tits en route to our second WS) and just want to say I love these threads and appreciate the dedication to all of y'all who're on here night in and night out.

It's been a helluva run and something I never thought would be possible as a kid watching us get swept by CHW in '05 and thinking if our Killer B's could get swept like that, Houston would never win a WS.

Best Aggie football seasons in recent memory were 2012 and 2020… both were terrible Astros regular seasons (thanks expanded covid playoffs for that 2020 run)
