RETVRN
So much of baseball is timing, we got those three teams in a 2 week stretch when the power of friendship and black magic was at a yearly high.Bonfired said:
Like some others, I mostly lurked…threw in a bit here and there, but not much to say that hasn't already been said.
Just to reinforce the point about losing too many games to bad teams, we're going to miss the playoffs after going 8-1 against the Dodgers, Phillies and Cubs.
Espada to me would make a decent "good cop" bench coach, but this group needed a "bad cop" at times and there wasn't one on this coaching staff. To be fair, that dude wasn't on our roster, either. The Framber-Salazar situation was not handled well on any level.
Will be an interesting offseason.

Watching Altuve half-a*** it really ticked me off.
This didn't age well
Just a reminder these guys are dealing with shlt we have no clue about.
Props to Jose for nutting up and toughing it out. GOAT
Regardless of what any fan thinks of Dana, the idea of firing two GMs in 3 years (one coming off a WS) reeks of a meddling ownership. There's simply no way you can make a judgement that quickly.EastCoastAgNc said:— Michael Schwab (@michaelschwab13) September 28, 2025

I'm indifferent towards Dana. I think he's done enough to deserve another year, but if management lets him go I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
It's more than fair to say that Espada isn't a big league manager. He seems to be a great bench coach, but some guys just don't have the makeup to be the guy in charge and that seems to be true of Joe. It would be very underwhelming if he's managing the squad next season

Facts. I'd keep Dana but not Espada.

Altuve said he is going to see doctors and they're going to "recommend some stuff" this offseason. Unclear whether that includes surgery.

I'm not arguing he should stay, I'm arguing the timing of it. Fire Joe this year, pick up Dana's option, and start searching for a president of baseball operations. Have him in place by the end of next year, fire Dana, and that way you have some continuity into the 26 offseason rather than letting the council of old men run wild on raiding the free agency retirement home.

Get ready for another Jeff Bagwell off-season

One of those was CW at home. One of the was CW on the road. That's .167 difference home vs road.
Road CW is a top 5 1B. I would take that all day long.
He didn't cost this team the playoffs, but if he's not so abysmal at home we are in.

It does… but I'm at peace with it. As long as we make it next year I'm good. Just not our year. We had our chances. The Aggies being 4-0 helps too.

I've seen this movie before. Your soul will be crushed in November. You know that.
Jacob Melton is with the Astros for game 162. Jeremy Peña is on the injured list with his left oblique strain.

Feels like the first offseason transaction besides giving Framber the QO has to be resigning Caratini
So FYI to the roster overhaul people, half of this lineup and rotation won nearly 90 games. They were never fully healthy https://t.co/YuLBjonDHZ
