Playoffs starting to look like a bit of a stretch now. This offense is so bad.

Man, these guys suck.

July was a great month but August has us back to crappy offense again. I think we're toast.

I'd say most of us are in agreement but will hold out hope as long as possible.

The Rangers are gonna have to pull off another 9 out of 10 streak to get back in it. So goes the offense so goes the Rangers. We have the pitching.

Heard CY on The Ticket saying we've got the guys if they can figure it out but I don't know what most of them have showed that would make you think they will figure it out.

On to preparing in being disappointed by the Ags and Cowboys.

Such a frustrating squad this year. But baseball being baseball, the Rangers could run off ten straight.

They would have only added a bat if they had traded guys like Garcia and Heim.

And I so wanted them to trade those two.

I literally don't think that is possible with how much of a boat anchor the offense is. If pitching and hitting are both middle of the road, sure a streak is possible. If one side under performs the other can pick them up. You know, complementary baseball. This team is completely incapable of that.

Time to shake things up imo. If it was me putting the lineup right now this would be it.

Same cast of characters. Lots of different lineups have already been tried with this group. Nothing has worked. I suppose this wouldn't hurt to try as well. Hard to do much worse.

Rough weekend. We only gave the Phillies moderate resistance Saturday and Sunday.

I was busy all weekend and honestly didn't watch a pitch after Friday night. For those of you at the game or watching, have our fans started booing the team yet?

No Rangers fans booing. In honesty, our section was about 50% Phillies fans, so it was kinda hard to hear Rangers fans over all the Phillies' fan celebrating.

Cast of characters will not change at this stage. Something to shake things up. When Carter is back in the next week, then it should be him in the leadoff role against righties and Haggerty against lefties and maybe rotate Adolis in at points.

I hate this for Adolis. He's one of the guys who got us the title. We needed him and he needed us and perfect timing brought him to us.

He will have made $20 million playing baseball, but he's costing himself a huge amount of cash by sucking this season. I don't know how his ARB3 will go, and he's an UFA for 2027. At this rate, he will sign a 1 year deal with Miami or Oakland for $3 million. With his defense, if he could only hit .250 with 90 RBI's and 30 HR gets him a 4-5 year deal for at least $10M/pop.

I hate it for Adolis too. He plays hard, has been the heart and soul of this team and seems like a genuinely good dude that is loved by his teammates. He's really easy to root for.

And when he's taking the right approach at the plate, he's a very dangerous hitter. He just reverts back to what makes him an easy out time and time again. Seems like a guy that just can't get out of his own way.

For all of that he still is at the top or near the top of hits, doubles, home runs and WAR on this team.

He has already made over $15M and likely signs his Arb3 for $13M. He'll have made $30M throwing, catching, and hitting a little ball.

I have no sympathy for him. LoL. Poor... poor... $30M Adolis.

I like Adolis, and when dialed in, he is as explosive as any. He has a **** at putting up a big number and just hasn't gotten it done.

Love the post-season numbers. His regular season numbers in '24 and likely '25, could be the difference in post-season for the Rangers.

He hits his career avg the rest of the way and it is good news.

I don't think he's likely to get arb3 with us. He's a legit non-tender option if he doesn't show some sort of ability to be more consistently dangerous at the plate.

Who do we replace him with? He has the most put-outs and assists as a RF in the league this year. We don't have anyone in the organization, that I know of, that can replace his defense. Offensively, he's having the worst full year of his career. He needs to be moved to the 6, 7, 8 hole in the lineup and stay there, but I think he's still a valuable member of the team and will be with Texas next year.

He gives me heartburn, but I don't see anyone to replace him, either inside or outside of the organization.

The guy is going to put up 2.5 WAR this year. He will have averaged 3 WAR in in his 5 full seasons in the big leagues.

We very well may not offer him any kind of extended contract, we may try and move him in the offseason... but there's zero chance we non-tender him.

Dodgers non tendered Bellinger, so anything is possible. Also his oWAR is just 0.5 this year. So a bit misleading to say he's going to be a 2.5 WAR player. He's been a black hole all year, but batting 4th has had enough opportunities to make it look like he's been productive if ignore what your eyes tell you when you watch him play. He's batting .234 with RISP. 10 of his 16 homers are solo shots.

For batting value he's ranked 285th out of 300 qualified hitters by baseball savant at a negative 12 value.

13 million is a significant number and they might decide there are better uses for that cash rather than running it back with one of the worst hitters in the league over the past 2 years.

If I was in the room, I'd argue all day to non tender him because this is now 2 straight years of replacement level offense and we can just throw Freeman out there at 600k if we are ok with replacement level performance.


ETA: If you look at the link I posted Semien is 278th and Heim is 261st. It's no wonder our offense is poor when guys we really counted on in 2023 are struggling so bad this year.

Even Seager is down at 59 which is very uncharacteristic of him.

We paid Joc 2yr/$18M per... to only bat... and only bat against RHP.

$13M is a drop in the bucket for a RF elite D player... whether he hits or not.

Taveras got $4.7M to NOT hit, NOT play elite D
... in fact I'm not sure he is even on a roster. LoL.

We paid Joc that because we thought he could hit. We surely wish we had that 18 million dollars back this year.

CY has been great at finding the right pitching for us. But we have to find some more bats next year. This has been embarrassing to see a team up against the CBT be this bad offensively. We're 28th in the league in OPS hanging out with the Pittsburghs and Chicagos and Clevelands of the world.

I've just got one thing to say. You know, everybody was wondering what would happen if the Rangers didn't make a Corey Seager bobblehead with audio. I guess we'll never know.

It'd be a huge mistake pay Adolis 13M without picking up a major major bat in the offseason. If you pick up a bona fide 3/4 hitter then okay I'll take his defense, but not also while your outfield is batting a collective like .237 most nights.

Nelson has a really nice fastball. That means this will be 0-0 going in to the 7th…
