Kevin Pillar speaks on his experience with the Rangers:

"I thought they would be a little bit tighter as a group. I thought it'd be like my experience in Atlanta. Everyone wanted to pull on the same rope, everyone wanted to hangout and do everything together. Winning was the… pic.twitter.com/oGWOMs4crb

I think it's safe to say at this point that CY pretty much botched the roster construction this season. Granted, there were restraints early on to stay under the CBT, but overall I think a lot of moves made this season are questionable. Burger being sent to AAA for only hitting around .210 but Pederson remaining in the lineup until his injury hitting about .125. Trying to address our lack of offense by trading for more pitching. Not getting a real closer but instead a handful of JAGs and hoping to cobble something together. Not saying I've lost confidence in CY or that he should be fired, but I do think they need to take a hard, hard look at this roster in the off-season and potentially make some significant changes.
I'll also say this, and this is JUST my opinion, but I don't think the way Seager goes about his business is the kind of thing you want young players seeing and emulating. I've heard it said that he doesn't take BP, at least not on a regular basis. Sits on the bench and stares at his iPad. Great hitter, great shortstop, but seems very focused on HIS game and not necessarily THE game. It sure felt more like a real "team" in '23, with Janko and Hedges helping keep everyone really engaged with what was happening on the field. This season I see a lot of guys just doing their own thing. Maybe it's just me - but I think it's worth looking into.

CY is a smart guy. He will fix this. The fact is that the manager is a lame duck and the guys in the dugout aren't being sold on being a team, but a collection of individuals. Pillar was dead on about the problem hereand it shows up in lack of clutch hitting and now in a lack of clutch pitching of late, mostly the bullpen. But I have CY will fix it for next season. But I won't be surprised if 2026 is either our last big season to go after a title or we start the rebuild, as the farm system has nothing of major note.

I don't blame CY when it comes to the offseason moves. I thought the moves he made last offseason were great. I don't think anyone would have expected most of the roster to have career low seasons in back to back years. He did his job. The guys he acquired did not. My biggest issue is the moves he made in before the trade deadline. It's not a big deal if the plan is still to go over the tax next year. But I gotta feeling we will try to stay under. Hope I'm wrong and we make some massive moves. Kyle Tucker please!

I know we just took another ugly loss, but I don't think we're done yet. I think these guys have another run in them.
We are not in a position to criticize Seager. 2X WS MVP, HOF candidate. These are pro athletes, most of which don't need a teammate to help with motivation. They'll ask Seager for help if they want to. I could see Carter needing some love being so young, but that's it.
CY made some bad moves. Most of them were reasonable and can be defended. It happens.
