Even over the course of a full season it really isn't that significant. The last 2 months? You're basically just trying to get lucky with small sample size.

I mean hell, a week ago half the board wanted to DFA Joc Pederson.

Unless you really think Garcia is going to change his approach at the plate the last 45 days of the season, which is unlikely.

It really is odd to see the significant drop in power on this team. Other than Josh Smith, everyone's power numbers are down from previous years. Semien is 34 now, and maybe a little dropoff is to be expected from his prime years. Not sure why Seager, Garcia, Jung, Heim, Burger, Joc and Langford are down. Duran has yet to leave the yard all season.

Just a little short history to think about. Since 2022, how many teams that were "in" the playoffs on 7/31, actually got in? 2022 was the first year of 3 WC and obviously we hope we move from out to in over the next 2 months.

2024:
AL 5/6 (Det made up 8 games and MIN out)
NL 5/6 (NYM made .5 games on Ari)

2023:
AL: 6/6
NL: 4/6 (This one is a bit odd. Cin and SF were in on 7/31 and didn't make it. Mil/Ari/Mia were all tied for 6th spot and all made with those 2 dropping out. They were all basically 1GB on 7/31 of the other 2).

2022:
AL 5/6 (Cle was 1GB and caught MIn)
NL 5/6 (Stl was 3GB of Mil)

So basically 1 team per league each year. Feel decent that it's us this year.

We have 46 games left. 26-20 should be enough to get in. We have 24 home games left and only 18 games left against teams currently in the playoffs. We SHOULD be able to make the playoffs.

Don't look now, but Cleveland in now tied with the Rangers in the Wild Card chase. People kind of wrote them off after their Closer (Clase) was suspended a few weeks ago.

We play them 6 times before the end of the season. We will have our chance to put them away.

The weekend schedule has:

Hou @ NYY for 3
Phil @ Tex for 3

We really, really need to win 2-3, and maybe even a sweep.

With Hou v NYY.... in the big picture it is probably more dependent on our series.

If we win 3, and Hou loses 3, we are 1.5 GB Hou, but make no ground up being 1.5GB NYY.
If we win 3, and NYY loses 3, we are 1.5 games up on NYY, but make no ground on Hou.

If we Lose 3, and Hou Wins 3, we're still 1.5 GB NYY for WC3.

How do we want the NYY/Hou series to play out?

And Wheeler is listed as the Sunday starter for Philly. Maybe I am forgetting, but I thought previously we were supposed to miss Wheeler this series? They could have juggled the rotation though.

Shoulder soreness for Wheeler coming off his Saturday start bumped him back a couple days. Gave up 3 HRs Sunday so we'll see which version we get

Driving in from out of town for Saturdays game. We got a lot M parking pass when we got the tickets. Online it looks like the lots open 2.5 hours prior to the game.

Lets say we get there earlier and want to go to Texas Live prior to the game. Will the paid lots literally be blocked off prior to the 2.5 window? If so, where would the best place be to park for that hour or two until the lots open?

Not positive yet what time we will be able to leave, but thought I'd ask here ahead of time.

I've seen that thread before, but never parked there. About how far of a walk would that be to Texas Live?

I was kinda hoping if the paid lots are closed (I already bought a parking pass), that maybe Texas Live had some free parking available prior to the paid lots opening.
