Juan Soto was a 24 year old about to hit free agency when he was traded.

Corey Seager is on the wrong side of 30 making $32M/year for the next 6 years.

Sure, he can be traded -- but Texas would likely be paying $30M+ for him to go away.

Him and Semien were signed to be the faces of the franchises. I think it's funny people now see them as "emotionless"... They've always been robots. "Professional" baseball players. I'll forever love that World Series title, but next to Garcia and Eovaldi, that team had next to no personality.

Nathaniel Lowe and his $10M salary put on waivers by Nats, went unclaimed, and is signing with BOS.

His 68 RBI would lead the Rangers. His 16 HR would be 3rd on the team. I'm not singing the praises of Lowe, with his .292 OBP or his .216 average. I'm merely pointing out that a bottom feeder released a guy who would be an offensive leader on TEX, and nobody wanted him, even for a month. I do think his opposite field power will play well in Fenway.

No complaint at all. My son and I were talking about career options for people with his disability. He loves to talk ball, and is thrilled about being at UTA. We live in Houston, and he is so stoked about going to college in Arlington. As someone who has seen and dealt with many of the barriers, both deliberate and unintentional, he understands the issues in a practical way. When I go up to visit him and we go to a game, I'm sure he'd love to meet someone who could talk to him about career opportunities.

So, no criticism at all.

I still think it was the right move to let him go and pick up Burger. Burger got off to a slow start, and then battled injuries. He's been pretty decent as of late. Hope he finishes the season strong and has a great year for us next year.

Thoughts on Manfred's geographic realignment talk from yesterday?

Personally, I'd hate to trade the AL/NL for some sort of East/West alignment. Even without going into the loss of tradition, the Rangers and Astros need less exposure to the west coast, not more. And stuff like what I've seen thrown around where the Mets and the Yankees are in the same division is really stupid.

I think depending on where the two expansion teams land, MLB could hopefully come up with a decent regional division only changing the league of 1 or 2 teams (the Rockies, being terrible and geographically isolated with no real rivalries, being the natural choice if one is needed).

Depending on where the new teams are, I'd like to see the Texas teams land in a division with 2 of the Royals, Twins, Rockies, Rays, or a Nasvhille team.

I think there is very little chance they totally drop AL/NL. I think Manfred knows there is nothing going on and wanted to say something that would get people talking for a few days.
