Anyone have experience operating short term rentals in San Antonio. Wife has family there and we are thinking about buying something we can use occasionally but rent out when not using it.

Just wondering what the market is like - for buying and for renting. We were thinking of something around the Pearl - or in that general area, but would consider other areas if it makes more sense.

OK - if no comments from owner/operators, how about any real estate agents in the San Antonio market that we might talk with?

Be sure and check the city STR permit maps because SA has a 12.5% limit per blockface and Pearl area has a lot of STRs already.

Post this on SA forum. I'm drawing a blank on his name, but there is a poster who I believe owns one or more short term rentals in downtown San Antonio, and has posted a lot about them. I'm sure they will be happy to help if you can get hold of them.

Someone in that forum can probably remember the name of the poster.
