The live projected standings were changing in real time as he went from being 2nd to 3rd to T5th. You weren't wrong at the time.

Before this week's tournament, Maichon is 22 spots back of Bennett playing 13 fewer events.

And he has made the same number of cuts as Sam.

Not to say that Maichon is a better player (he probably well could be) but only to show how poorly Bennett has been in 2025.

I root for Sam's success every week. But until he can eliminate the double bogeys, he's not gonna make it. Touring pros just don't make than many doubles every week.

"P could go out there and hit balls for hours and for Sam any more than 30 minutes he was done" I'm paraphrasing but Kortan and P said that in a TexAgs interview a month or two back.

I'm wondering how much this is affecting him this year.

I do too. He's so close, but when it goes bad it goes Happy Gilmore bad for a few holes. I expect him to shoot -4 tomorrow and finish top 10. He's got the skills to compete at the next level, but when it goes bad it just snowballs. Wish he could just mentally say F it after a bad hole and move on, but that doesn't happen.
