We are looking at doing a small addition on our home and a bathroom remodel that would require new windows. Our current ones are Builders first source and the seals are cracking so whatever we put in this remodeled part of the house we would in the future match through the rest of the house.

We are looking for a black exterior with black interior as well as black exterior white interior.

What are good value brands and lines to consider? Right now we are leaning towards Anderson 100's.

Anderson 100's are hard to beat for the price and most likely will meet your area building code. A lot of people miss that part. I use Anderson 100's & 400's on just abut every remodel project I've done.

Andersen 100. Pella 250 series if still open to vinyl (only black/white option there - laminated exterior). Pella Impervia can do black/black.

Not necessarily value brands - both are premium brands and the best two brands in the business

Value brand option - Window World. People have complaints about them, but somebody has a complaint about every company. Easy order process (though admittedly the sales guy will be a bit pushy), and since they fab their own the time from first call to one-day installation is like 3 weeks. They're vinyl, but they're lifetime guaranteed so it's a wash.

We did 13 normal double hung, double insulated windows and 1 huge safety glass bay window for about $4k I think (was 2 years ago)

Window world doesn't build their own window. They just have a private label from a manufacturer. Window world is a franchise so the quality of the install can vary from location to location. I've heard good things about the Dallas and Houston branches though. $4,000 is an absolute steal I would think.

Yeah I guess "make their own" is inaccurate, I really meant they don't sell/install National name brand windows like Anderson or Pella.

They are a franchise, but supposedly you can make complaints to the corporate office and get decent results. I don't know if that's true, we had a decent install experience. They did cut a few corners that I didn't find until later, but the errors weren't critical safety/reliability errors so I just fixed it myself.

Their entry level windows are builders grade. We got whatever the step up is called. No complaints so far after 2 years. Did have a warranty claim - lawnmower threw a rock through a pane. Called warranty number, gave them the serial number printed on the frame, they replaced it for $0 including reinstallation (admittedly I would have been irritated if I had to pay a guy to slide in a double hung pane) within a week.

We wanted to shop local, but all the local shops had 4-6 month lead times on materials. All of this in south Louisiana, for clarity

Give Aaron Ross at Ultra Windows a call.

(409) 718-0472

I've used them twice on my house (first time was an almost-complete replacement) and have been impressed.
