I am installing a hot water recirc pump because it takes 2 minutes to get hot water at the far outlets and I went to secure the water to the water heater and realized (again) the valve is bad. It's a brass valve soldered directly to a copper pipe. Talked to one of our resident home improvement experts BenTheGoodAg and he informed me it's actually not that hard to sweat copper. To YouTube I go. After watching a 2 minute video I realized he is totally correct.
I already have the torch so about $22 in supplies later, outside of the fittings, I'm going to learn to sweat some copper.
