Houston specs got a lot of blantons, eagle rare (including mags), and W12.
Thank you for posting! I stopped by my local specs and picked up a W12 and Eagle Rare because of your post

My sh*tty specs sure didn't … but that's no surprise. Needed tequila anyway so figured I'd check

None of it was on the shelf. I had to talk to the manager and they had one of each left that wasn't allocated. The next Specs I stopped by had WSW but that's it.

TexAgs Weller Full Proof Barrel Pick Update -

It's on the way to my store. TexAgs is looking to receive around 30-40 bottles. I apologize for the scarcity, but I took 7 other guys out to pick with me and promised them X amount of bottles each. I also have a share of the bottles, as does the store bringing it in, and a few friends.

This will also be a pretty popular release. Our barrel is a "flood surviving barrel" and was thoroughly tested by BT after the flood and still met the standards for WFP. We picked in March and of course the flood happened in April. We have a pretty epic tater sticker for the back so that will likely delay you guys getting the bottle as well.

With that being said, I am raising money for a charity near and dear to me with these bottles. I am looking at a raffle for these 30-40 bottles with around a $10 entry ticket. All of entry money will go to the Therapeutic Recreation Group, a non-profit for Military and First Responders. If you know somebody associated with the organization, please don't tell them as I want it to be a surprise. (https://www.therapeuticrg.org/)

Each bottle will also be marked up a bit but, you are still looking at a cost of likely $90 or less. There are a lot of moving parts so please don't hold me to anything other than any profit will all go to the charity of TRG. If you have any heartburn about this process, feel free to voice it to me via PM or on here but I feel like this is very fair.

Thanks and Gig 'Em!

To be clear, the raffle is a chance to buy the bottle or win the bottle?

Raffle will be for the chance to buy the bottle. Again the price isn't set in stone yet. Might be $5 or $10 an entry. Price of the bottle right now is at most $90 but could be less. Details still being negotiated.

Doing a raffle seems like the way to go and it looks like the money will be going to a really good cause.

Id suggest limiting it to people who have participated in previous barrels. Otherwise you open it to a rash of taters

Not a terrible idea. Perhaps one entry as well per previous TexAgs pick bought by a user then $10 for each other raffle entry?

Sounds fair and Id happily donate even if I don't win.

Cool story, first flood barrel I've heard about, for this particular flood. Nice to see they can survive something like that.

Since I didn't know this thread existed during previous barrels I would be opposed to not being allowed to buy a chance at this one.

However giving an extra chance to previous participants seems fair.

Here's another idea… could you do a buy it now at $175ish? Seems like that might interest some and help you maximize charity $. Don't get fixated on the price, just the concept.

This is a good idea. Sell the 40 bottles at $200 each so $8000 to charity ?

Well he's not getting the for free, so it would net that much. The question is can he raise more via a raffle or selling at a premium. I'd bet some combo is the right way.

Seems fair? With such a limited number of bottles in such a rare barrel, what is fair is not to include the new guys showing up to take the spot of someone who has been a part of this for years.

But the choice is aways for the organizers.

if you want a list of previous buyers of TexAgs juice... drop me an email and I'll get you access.

not saying you go this route or not, but if you just want the information, happy to share.

I would agree if it was a matter of choosing who gets the bottles but if the purpose is to raise money with a raffle then limiting the people who can buy chances kind of defeats the purpose.

Agreed, I don't think limiting the amount raised for charity is the move. My vote would be everyone can enter but people who have previously bought TexAgs picks entries are worth double

I'm considering only letting rookie accounts or new Texags accounts 1-2 entries, while everyone who has been active gets unlimited entries…I have the lists.

However I have missed a bunch of these drops so I get it. If you have a Texags Russell's reserve I'll be looking for you to trade me.

If these volumes are showing up at 6ea...it'll show up everywhere as the 2ndary values will plummet.
