I was up around Pilot Point on Saturday for a different quixotic errand so I thought I'd go ahead and take advantage of my proximity to Yearby's. I did not think about taking any photos (what an amateur!) but the food was amazing. It's halal - so no pork products. The star was the brisket and the smoked meatloaf. Moist brisket was sliced juuuuuuust to the limit of too thick to hide texture, I thought, but was wrong. It held up amazingly with a fantastic, super-peppery bark. The smoked meatloaf was fantastic; it was surprisingly dense, heavier than I expected and held together almost reminiscent of a slice of moist cake. The taste and mouth-feel were otherworldly, with a sauce less sweet than their typical barbecue sauce. The beef hot link was also great - dense, heavy texture. The turkey was also very good, and most places would've been a highlight, but we were so beefed out at that point it was almost an afterthought.
We had the smoked elote, mac and cheese, and beans as sides. Elote was great, but for some reason was a little bit lukewarm. Mac and cheese was homemade, with some spices a little unfamiliar. The beans were sort of run-of-the-mill baked beans - very sweet, but not bad.
They also make water-ice, which is apparently a Philadelphia specialty (the wife of the husband and wife team is from there) that is like a snow-cone but better. Creamier and not melty. Kids loved it and from my limited observation, every customer group had ordered at least one water-ice.
Very small venue that was about empty when we arrived at 11:15, but by the time we left an hour later was overflowing with outdoor seating also filled up.
