I also got drinks at Jewel of the South. I ordered:

1. Pouves-Vous Poulet-Duck and Chicken Fat-Washed Rums, Smoked Maple Syrup, Bitter Queen's Caribbean Bitters

2. Feast of Avalon-Pineau des Charentes, Ardbeg 10 Year, Pomegranate, Bengal Spice Tea Syrup, Lemon

3. Jewel Sazerac-Rittenhouse Rye, H&H Rainwater Madeira, Matifoc Rancio Sec, Demerara, Herbsaint, Peychaud's Bitters

I wasn't very hungry when I was there but I did try the Fois Gras Parfait which was outstanding.

Just got back from NOLA first time in 20 years. Can't believe I let it go that long as I truly love the city.

Skip Acme and go to Felix's for oysters.
Ferry across to Algiers was cheap and fun. They have a cute coffee shop the ladies loved and then we had Barracuda Taco stand which was incredible. We were on a schedule so did not get to stop at Crown & Anchor for a beer sadly. Had a blast on Frenchmen street checking out really great jazz.

Can't wait to go back.

Really good music on Frenchmen. The Marigny today is what the Vieux Carre used to be. And Bywater is starting to replace both.

I put together a trip for 14 people this weekend for my wife's birthday. Then I came down with a nasty cold last week at a conference and couldn't physically make the trip.

Knowing they're all out having fun and I'm stuck at home really sucks.

Wow!!! I can count on 1 hand the best meals I have ever eaten. One of those was a lunch at Cochon. Don't even recall the special that day, but it was one of the best meals I ever have eaten.

Incidentally, one was a lunch at Rivershack believe it or not!

100%, love Felix's. My parents took me there in the early 80's as we past thru NO. Went back a few years ago with my Dad and it was different but the same, good memos, good oysters, love it.

Nice lineup. Dang a decade ago FQF was actually easy to move around in. That thing is starting to feel like jazzfest now.

Mr. B's has been there forever, and still manages to deliver. My son took his gal there during a road trip for a formal, and ended up blowing off my other recommendations and eating there 3 times to try different menu items.
