More than happy to admit I was very wrong. Kid worked hard and his work is being rewarded. Hope he gets a full time spot next season.

Not that we really needed any more evidence about Aggies' collective lack of basketball smarts, but this thread is a real keeper.
There were similar sentiments on here about Khris as well.

You don't think so? On several occasions, we've had posters say that Kennedy can't improve our poor ft shooting or build a semi-decent offense because he doesn't have 3pt shooters. Obviously you can't fix everyone, but a good shot doctor and a whole lot of practice can do a lot for both.
Anyway, not interested in derailing a pretty funny bump full of so much fail, but it did make me laugh a bit that our "not a true point guard" is now playing PG in the nba.
Alex learned to shoot in the NBADL. That's exactly what it's for. To take prospects and develop them for the NBA. then apply the skills in summer league for display. Alex is a hard worker and willing learner.

The D-League did exactly what it is supposed to do. Of course, it requires Hard Work and Time, as I've outlined numerous times. The NBA reserves player development and instruction to D/G League and on display in the Summer League. there aren't many practices once the 82 game season gets rolling, and isn't a classroom.

#98 prospect. Caruso is not going to the NBA, except as a free agent. Possibly if he played for Madrid for 3-4 years.
NBADL would be a waste of time.

People said he had NO chance to make it when it should have been obvious he had a solid chance if his outside shooting got better. He'd already improved his shooting throughout his college career and from high school, and it stands to reason that a kid with his work ethic who was freed from the constraints of college would continue to get better.
This isn't being wrong about a prospect, which happens to everybody. This is a guy who Ags watched for four years and the vast majority of them took very strong positions that he had no shot at the NBA. And making it even more ridiculous is the level to which some Ags seemed to revel in it.expresswrittenconsent said:DTP02 said:

Fans and experts were wrong about how a guy projected at the next level. Almost like how until hop saw fall practice and started the R Williams bandwagon all of the insider fanboi types here *cough - not you of course - cough* were telling us all summer how eric vila was the stud incoming player of the class and nobody at all was talking about robert. It happens. The same people who pretty much didnt think Caruso was NBA good all felt pretty much the same about House and Jalen. Weird that there aren't any threads where smart basketball aggies thump their chests about how they knew all along jalen/house were gonna make it.
To be fair, it's not like he signed a UDFA deal right out of school and immediately began contributing to an NBA team. He spent a year in the developmental league and has spent this season bouncing between the developmental league and the end of the bench (he's averaging 3ppg for the Lakers). So it's been a long journey for him and he's got a ways to go.DTP02 said:

Yea, so far he has just proved the people wrong who said he would never play a game, which was not a small amount of people94 Killer said:
He's not all the way in yet. He's gone farther than most all of us thought. Next step is to make a regular roster. I'd say right now he stands an excellent chance.

Ah yes, the board that is routinely pessimistic and wrong about their own players defending themselves after being hilariously wrong, yet again.
Good job guys. Not only were you wrong, but now you've given visual proof that you're too stubborn to admit when you're wrong.
Maybe you should spend some more time on Curious George to brush up on your reading skills. After that, you can have another go at my post and then try to explain to me how I'm too stubborn to admit I'm wrong.Quote:
I'm one of the people who didn't think he'd play in the NBA, and I was wrong (and very glad to be so) ... Again, that prediction was wrong.
...
Regardless, I hope he continues to improve, is promoted beyond deep bench player in the future, and proves me completely deadass wrong.

I think he has a decent shot. I'm surprised by the general consensus that he doesn't have the handles to be an NBA pg.
There is much less ball pressure on the guards at an NBA level. It's about whether you can create for yourself or your teammates.
He's got plus size, vision, and rebounding at the 1. The question has always been his shot which is the easiest skill to develop. He's also shown great strides. Like most rotation guys though, it's a lot more about opportunity than anything. Need to end up on the right team with a chance to play and impress.

Darren Collison, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute were all starters, I think. They probably qualify as NBA guys.wacarnolds said:pretty sure that team was stacked with NBA guys.AggieBaller98 said:meh. how many NBA stars did that UCLA team that we lost by one in the tourney have?Method Man said:
