Playing hard would be Rule#1 for anyone trying to make the team as a walk-on during tryouts.

Why even have tryouts with these useless lunch pailers? Bucky has 5 and 6 figure checks to give to bonafide studs and beasts from anywhere in
the country.
At the very least, hold tryouts in the Houston and DFW areas and find your hidden gems there. And it aint that hard getting any Joe Blow HS grad enrolled into A&M these days.

Bucky going to start a 12th man walkon tradition. Find the tallest walk on on campus and let him do the opening tip.
Would have been nice if one of them had come in with the attitude that they're going to show they can play not just that they're lunch pail types.

Not gonna lie, getting to play on an A&M court like that would be pretty awesome. However, I am also 50 years old and my entire body aches from a long hike yesterday.

I wouldn't say "most" but it's definitely quite a few of them. The traffic is still definitely significantly lighter in the summer.
Think Coach Bucky is positive and being kind....heard no talent really showed up (that really would make a team)...hence they played hard often used quote in that scenario.
Do wonder if he'll be disappointed, if he can't find 1 walkon in a school of A&M's size. Was speculating he wants some on roster to play into the '12th man' to help grow support of the program (as he needs fans to show up and show out this 1st year).

I don't doubt that he's going to play to the fan base, but I think it's more likely that they were just hoping to find some walkons they could use and grandfather in before the roster limits kick in next month. Schools have 30 days from June 6 to designate players that won't count against the limit.
If that wasn't a factor then obviously it would be much better to wait until the school year starts. You'd not only have more students around, but you'd have a bunch of freshmen who are just off of playing varsity basketball at high school.

Well with public school,out,that reduces traffic. I guess I've had family/friends stay in town and maybe take a class on campus, mostly they took online classes

That's right. Sam Gamgee didn't make the team because he sacked the QB all the time.
Making the team as a walkon or making the practice squad was my dream when I was a student, never ended up getting a chance to tryout though because of bad luck with some major injuries.
At least when I was at A&M, there was always a robust practice squad for both the men's and women's teams full of students who could really play (who encouraged me to try out) so I'd be really surprised if there weren't at least a few guys that tried out that could competently fill a role on the practice squad or at the end of the bench.
The highlights posted are odd though as they seem to show bad ball security and air balls leading to loose ball situations. Seems like you could show that and also show these guys making some shots, as cut the clip kind of embarrasses those guys IMO.
