I don't mean this in regards to Taylor, but I wonder how often low level prospects know they aren't going to make the NBA or have a significant career overseas, but still go through the Summer League just so they can have it on their life resume.

He will play in G-league and overseas. Making $100k playing overseas beats a desk job.

Two guys I've watched the last 5 years, both legends on their campuses, are Taylor and RJ Davis. Both put up huge career numbers, both under-sized. Davis a better shooter, especially from mid-range, Taylor more wiggle/quickness, both liabilities on defense. On the surface, you'd prefer the guy who is a better shooter, but without elite athleticism (like AI), there won't be many open looks. And to be fair, Wade had to create for himself way too often. All things considered, I'd probably pick Wade, but he's gonna have to leverage that quickness to become a pass-first PG. There's no reason he couldn't become a solid rotation, change of pace guy like J.J. Barea.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

I specifically said that I was not talking about Taylor. He has a chance to have a solid career (albeit highly unlikely in the NBA). I'm interested to see what he winds up doing.

I know a guy who had a successful football career at an FCS school and was signed for training camp with an NFL team. He knew he wasn't going to make it, but it gave him kind of a cool story to tell that may have helped him in some respects in his post-football career. That type of mentality might be less common that I'm thinking, though. Obviously not the same situation since there are countless leagues throughout the world to earn a living playing basketball, but you get the point.
