It will be interesting to see if the pendulum comes back closer to the middle now because of the NIL.

The NBA sucks cause everyone just shoots 3s... 1 year college kids going pro isn't the problem.

As a total aside, I wish Barkley had more influence with the black community. He's one of the few prominent figures who really has an independent mind and speaks from the heart (not bought and paid for) about what he thinks is best for black folks.

He probably shouldn't have gone with, "I'm not a role model" a long time ago. Do as I say not as I do only goes so far.

I agree and disagree with Barkley here.
Agree: Kids should want to go to college and strive for dreams like he mentioned. It's a real problem that whole segments of our population (not just black kids) dream about jobs that they statistically have no chance at getting. Also colleges should be focused on developing their athletes as scholars as well because the number going pro is super small. The NCAA serving as a pseudo minore league for the NBA and NFL is one of my huge pet peeves. Make those kids be real students. If they don't want to be students, go play for the Ignite or somewhere else overseas until you're old enough for the NBA and NFL.
Disagree: If you are one of the very few that's got a skill someone wants to pay you for... get paid. Ready or not for the league, Cooper Flagg would be a fool to turn down 30 million guaranteed. Even if he busts out he's got generational wealth if he hires a good money manager. Now if we're talking about the dum dums that come out early and go undrafted, then yeah sure, obviously stay in school. But you can always go back to college if you're Cooper Flagg and finish that degree of the NBA doesn't work out.
